I bought Obduction at the full $29.99 Price and it went on sale just under two weeks later. Is there a way to get credit for my early purchase or do I have to return the game and repurchase?
Hey, I bought a game at full price on release and you wouldn't believe what happened a couple of months later! They put it on sale! The nerve!!! I want... no, I DEMAND my money back!
Yea I think you are just gonna have to bite the bullet.

If you haven't DLed the game yet, you could contact Support and ask for a refund. No guarantee they'd do it, but it's worth a shot. If you've DLed the game already, then you're out of luck, I'm afraid.

Look dude, I'm sure you think you are just one incredibly witty person and I a happy for you that you get to live in that world of yours. More power to ya! But here in reality and in AMERICA, if you buy something and it goes on sale the same month, the company will almost always honor the sale price for the customer if for no other reason than to retain the good will and continued business of said customer. So while you are you got have your little internet moment. Does anyone else have anything valuable to offer me in regards to my inquiry?

No worries. I think they're reluctant to do it, but they've been known to sometimes. Good luck!
tuff luk
I once bought a game (gift...) and it went on sale the very next day. Well - tough luck.

On the other hand I tried to buy something on the last weekend and couldn't - because VISA bugged out. Got it on sale 50% off a few days later...
If it's under 30 days and you haven't downloaded anything you can get a no questions asked refund. After 30 days or if you have downloaded it, you're probably looking at eating that $30 cost.
As GROOT said you could ask support if it's possible to get a refund, but other than that it's kinda your fault. You should have learned by now how seasonal sales work on digital distribution platforms, or if you are young, and you just started buying games, then you should keep in mind that we all make mistakes when we start something new and don't know all the details for an ideal solution. All we can do is hope that we get lucky and avoid the repercussions of these, our first tries.

Good luck contacting GOG support.

That's usually done as a price match guarantee and GoG doesn't price match.

Having said that, best bet would be to contact GoG directly via a support ticket as they're the only ones who can give you a rear answer.

The solution to that is: never buy anything at full price.
