They really need to indicate if a game is a first person perspective. I recently purchased Medieval Dynasty and found it unplayable for me. Why? I suffer from DIMS (Doom induced Motion Sickness) and
and it causes me to avoid those games. My recent purchase of that game is the reason for this post, if it was identified as a FPP game, that purchase would have never happened. Now GOG gets to decide if I deserve a refund for the game. I hope they do, and I can get a refund for a game I would have never purchased if I knew it would make me sick to my stomach.

Any extra information on the game pages is certainly welcome. I can't relate to your experience though, as I do a lot more research before purchasing a game. I've never needed a refund.
Consider it a learning experience against impulse purchases.

Sounds like an accessibility issue with certain games here.

My personal suggestion is to look at the screenshots, and perhaps the trailer (in case it shows any gameplay), before purchasing games; that should be enough to tell if a game is in first person. You could also look for some gameplay videos; if you get motion sickness just watching them, you might want to avoid them (and stop watching the video as soon as you notice).

With that said, perhaps GOG should have included the "FPP" genre tag for this particular game.

By the way, you might find games with grid based movement (like Wizardry (excluding 8), Bard's Tale (at least 1-3, don't know about 4), Might and Magic 1-5, and the main Ultima series (some dungeons have grid-based first-person movement, but avoid the Underworld games)) to be comfortable to play, even if FPP games with smooth movement and camera control aren't.
This seems to be another issue Steam already fixed / alleviated with game tags.

My advice is to research a game before purchasing it, especially if you have a condition that could make certain types of games unplayable for you. There is rarely a scarcity of information about almost any game ever made on the internet, you should use that to your advantage.
With well over 200 games in my library all of the FPP games I had were freebies. This is the first time I
wanted to return a game I actually bought. The game pages shows a character shooing an animal and it is definitely not in the first person perspective. That was enough o make me think it was not and I was fooled.
I winder now if GOG really will refund the game since I have heard nothing back in a while.

support is swamped (see the sticky at the top of the forum) so replies are very slow.

the "30 days no questions asked" refund policy should cover you in any case though (assuming you've already contacted them).

There's a difference between gameplay vids and trailers showing cinematics, be it in-game or constructed from the game engine. Always look up gameplay trailers ,)

In a sense, I agree with you though.
Having some sort of "review" site only detailing the games objective attributes would be lovely.
I myself can't play STACS's (Space Trading and Combat Simulators) like Freelancer without a third person chase cam.
Having to read countless forums to find out if it gives that choice, and not cockpit only is a chore indeed.

What would you do if the result of your search is "no chase cam, but there's a mod that adds that option"? Would you consider that acceptable, or would you still pass on the game?
