Hello all!

I've been reading the forums and there doesn't seem to be anything on someone using macbook (big sur 11.5.2) playing HOMM4 (heroes of might and magic 4) downloaded through PaulTheTall (Porting Kit).

The game play is super laggy and heroes move so slow with the screen graphics almost trying to catch up to the movement.

However, navigating my bases, in game menu and battles work fine and there is no lag whatsoever. Only the actual movement of heroes and units on the map is so slow is driving me crazy!

Anyone face this problem?

Solutions?

Sorry cannot help you except by saying that a thread title mentioning Apple would have been better.

Try HoMM4 Resolution Mod with GL Wrapper by Verok. If that doesn't help, post a new topic in Heroes of Might and Magic series forum and put HOMM4 in the title.

IS the resolution mod you suggested from PC or macbook users?

if you are porting into WINE via the software then all solutions will be windows based, as you load up wine you are using more and more resources... Wine is effectively emulating windows on a mac and all dependencies needed. so make sure the mac you are using is pretty beefy and has the hardware to run what you want.
