This Giveaway is now closed. Happy Earth Day, everyone!

In celebration of Earth Day this year I am giving away a game I've had a lot of fun with over the last year and has recently come out of development ... The Planet Crafter.

Update: Due to the interest, there will be two copies of the game given away.

In The Planet Crafter you are a prisoner who is dumped on a planet and given the task to terraform it. Start from a small pod base gathering resources and crafting oxygen, water and food to survive, while taking cover during meteor showers, to using blueprints to build up and create larger bases and terraforming a barren world to a new home. For those who have played Subnautica, it has a very similar feel to it but no underwater terror. ;)

The rules are simple:
1) Say you are IN or NOT IN.
2) Be a human, AI terraformers are not allowed. To verify this you will need to have a GOG account before 2024 and answer 3 questions below imaginatively.
3) Don't be on the scammer list or banned from the Community GA in the past year. As 'warden' for this game I reserve the right to revoke any prospective terraformer's application (remove you from this giveaway) for crimes of repeated rudeness, scamming, trolling or the phishing of endangered species (friendly Goggers). :P
4) The winning prisoner terraformer will be chosen by Random.org sometime after 6PM (UTC) on Earth Day, Monday, April 22, 2024 and will receive their Terraformer's Pardon (game key) via PM.

Prospective Terraformers must answer these questions to apply for a Terraformer's Pardon:
1) What was your crime? (Think up a funny crime that got you into this mess.)
2) What would you like your ideal terraformed planet to be like?
3) What Earth tree would you most want to plant on your new world?

That's it. Good luck, prospective Terraformers!

NOTE: Evidently the updated game no longer works with W7 since late February (see below). :(

bjgamer: NOTE: This game worked well for me on single player Windows 7 with offline installers. I do not use Galaxy nor know about the multi-player aspect.
Not in (I already own it), but whilst the earlier versions ran fine on W7 all throughout Early Access, I'm fairly certainly the newest version (as of the "Procedural Wrecks" update) stopped working on W7 due to using a newer build of Unity.

Darn! I hadn't played it from then due to eye surgeries and recovery. Thanks for letting me know.
Thank you for the giveaway, I'm in.

1) My crime was being too successful at hunting monsters. When there is nothing left to hunt the hunting dogs get put down. Or abandoned on a planet.

2) I like to turn the world into a huge city with lots of plants (parks, gardens, trees, etc.) in it.

3) Apple trees, of course. You can't make Apple strudel without apples!
Mighty does not know what this tara... turafurming stuff is, so is not in, but want to say "Hi" to the Captain J.
I'm in!

1) I'm guilty of stealing mangoes from the Department of Famine Erradication of Earth Prime, because I was mildly hungry.

2) I'm aiming for my terraformed planet to be great and green and full of mangoes!

3) Why, artichoke trees, of course!

Thanks for the generosity! ^_^
Not In... but I'm going to answer your three questions anyway just for fun and hopefully inspire others.

1) What was your crime? (Think up a funny crime that got you into this mess.)

As the former mayor of Earth's most beautiful city since it was founded, my crime was designing absolutely every single intersection possible to be a roundabout for the sole purpose of saturating the city with parks and fountains everywhere.

2) What would you like your ideal terraformed planet to be like?

A utopia for cats with fun, dangly things everywhere. Sadly, this also means no fountains.

3) What Earth tree would you most want to plant on your new world?

Cat trees.

I am in for this game.

1) My crime was harassing humpback whales off the coast of Brazil near Rio de Janeiro.

For anyone wondering, someone was actually accused of this: https://apnews.com/article/bolsonaro-whale-harassment-brazil-investigation-sao-paulo-c865abfeb2f55a9ca7fc40ed7a56709b

2) My ideal terraformed planet would be mostly beaches with palm trees, combined with some mountain areas too.

3) For the mountainous parts, pine trees. For the tropical areas, coconut-producing palm trees.
Thank you for the GA. I'm in :)

1) My crime is that I commited a javascript code once and I'm not sorry at all.
2) Fully Terraformed Planet means to me that there is possible to run at least one Von Neumann Machine with stable energy supply.
3) Sequoiadendron giganteum.
Didn't know about this game, but it surely looks awesome! I'M IN, Bjgamer!

1- I killed the last bee and was responsable for the end of the old world.
2- My ideal planet would be a world with stable te.perature between 18-20° C. A big city with plenty of things to do, but surrounded by nature, with mountains caves and forest.
3- The Ceibo, is the national plant of my country, everybody always carry a part of the country with them.

Thanks for the giveaway!
I have never played this genre; it would be a challenging and enjoyable adventure, Therefore, I'm In!

1) What was your crime?
A homeless veteran, I was freezing one winter when stumbled upon a large warehouse of sorts. I crawled inside a large and cozy-looking crate. When I woke up I was arrested for stowing away and I was not informed as to my current whereabouts.

2) What would you like your ideal terraformed planet to be like?
A planet that was approximately the same gravity (size and mass) of Terra, my home world; one (hopefully) rich in resources, animal, vegetable, and mineral.

3) What Earth tree would you most want to plant on your new world?
I would most want to plant an oak tree. It would prove a testament to my success, even many centuries after I had expired, as evidenced by its own survival.
Thank you for the giveaway, I'm in.

My answers:
1) As visiting the monarchy of Gertrice, I wanted to have a snack so I went to the their highness' fruit garden to grap an apple. The fruits are highly praised by the common folks, but I found out that they are actually fake and made of plastic. I was expelled from Earth due to having highly confidental information.

2) My ideal terraformed planet is 80% habitable and/or farmable land and rest is drinkable water. There is enough land to for the whole population and food production, so that a large proportion of it can be kept as forests for animals to roam free and people to refresh their minds.

3) The tree specie I'd like to plant to the new world is Californian redwood.
I'm guilty for asking to add another rule:
The winner must play at least 3 times online co-op with the GM #bjgamer. A pretty big mess with the solo players creed!

I really appreciate your giveaway #bjgamer, however, I'm not in using the excuse I don't support the terraforming concept. I like the ideas of one mother Earth to take care of, one vital opportunity to truly give our best, the humankind ability to adapt for survival, and many others.

And approving any climbing friendly tree, I thank your giveaway and say happy upcoming mother Earth's day!
I'm in!

1) Refusing to bow down to the boss.
2) Fire, brimstone and sulphur.
3) Forbidden fruit tree.
I'm not in

Good luck to all 'outlaws' and many thanks to bjgamer for charming giveaway!
