meditatinghamster: What am I missing?
Once a game gets Galaxy integration, it leads to two kinds of unwanted behaviours:
- content being voluntarily locked behind Galaxy usage (multiplayer is the most obvious example, but that can happen to single player content too);
- bugs when Galaxy is not running, like games crashing when they try to register achievement unlocks or persistent saved games not working.
Since Galaxy is not available for Linux, both are avoided with Linux builds of games.
meditatinghamster: I've got to ask, what distro are you running? I've been on Arch for the past couple of years (dual booting) but as much as I love the AUR and pacman I'm itching to move to a non-rolling release distro lol.
Most of my games I run on a Debian Sid, so that would not avoid the rolling model.
My secondary system on the other hand is a Debian stable, this one is happy with monthly updates (mostly security updates).
