Well... so I learned that somewhere on the Internet there is a forum where the people are fairly contemptible and ban anyone who is not with them politically and doesn't want to participate in their circlejerk. And when I say "learned" I mean "always knew there were tons of them, but now also know one such forum by name." Great success.

In fact, if the inmates ran the asylum, we'd have the same exact thing happening on this forum.

"Fools" referred to GG's and SJW's in general, and I actually liked some of what you posted earlier, before you got hotheaded -- which kind of undermines the points you're trying to get across.

Looking back at it, this is pretty much the best way to summarize what happened back then. Started off as being an ethics teardown, but quickly became just another front between the far left and far right in the never-ending culture wars.

So what do we have? Two groups of people talking past one another, led by a few agent provocateurs with horrible agendas, using a popular entertainment media as an excuse to start it up again, threatening to destroy a once-diverse community, with the limitless kindling provided by social media and clickbait blog sites serving to make sure we never recover.

Ironically, it has allowed the REAL decimation of gaming, the proliferation of loot boxes and "live services," goes relatively under the radar, save for especially egregious cases of pay-to-win a la Battlefront II EA.

When presented with two extremes pressuring you to choose sides, the only correct answer is "no." Until people learn to back away from the base appeals to emotion that allow culture wars to distract us from real issues, both in and out of gaming, it's just a slow march to the grave.

Fair enough. My initial reaction to it was that she was 100% in the wrong too. But upon thinking on it more, two things changed my mind, our awful and expensive healthcare in the US, and the hate people get thrown their way for being out. Sometimes to the point they get killed. Even our current government right now has renewed hate for LGBT people with their recent policies. It's no wonder she chose the route she did. Had those two things not been a factor, I believe she wouldn't have been deceptive about it and engaged in fraud.

The main thing I was against was the harassment she went through. There wasn't any need for that, people can get their point across, pull funding, etc. without being abusive.

But it no longer matters for her now anyways, she's gone.

I will add my voice and say I am disappointed with GOG. A simple neutral response would be sufficient and proper.

It did not became about those topics it was made to be about those topics by exactly the gaming outlets/journalists which were accused of collusion and unethical journalism.

Every accusation/insult a journalist/dev faced was suddenly not about something he/she did or fucked up, but about the political view or the gender or the sexual orientation - he is a lefty and likes diversity that is because he gets attacked, they do not like women in gaming etc. They changed it and the whole media jumped on that train and should tell everybody something.
