Why do I have to often do captcha to login? I hate captcha, and it tends to drive me away from sites. It makes no sense to me to present registered users with captcha for logging in.

Browsing the site from an older phone is a disaster. The store takes forever to load (if it succeeds at all), where even youtube loads without any problems.

When browsing the forum from a phone, there seems to be multiple transparency layers involved in the site style where some of these layers don't scale when zooming, making it very difficult to browse the forum. It's a jumbled mess.

The store search is pretty much useless to me except when searching directly for a specific title. There just aren't any meaningful game attributes to search by.

Store suggestions are useless to me, where more often than not, no matter what games I am browsing, I am presented with recommendations for The Witcher games. Those games just aren't my thing. And so it seems that the suggestions isn't about presenting me with anything relative and meangingful to games that I might like to play.

There is no means for game reviews + discussion. Searching the forum, I see that any thread that means to be a review (where community discussion could follow) is shutdown. Very annoying. So the only means for reviews are isolated comments below game descriptions in the store where the review filters aren't very useful. To me, this is not a fostering of community. It is the opposite.

The General Discussion area of the forum is constantly loaded with sales threads, free stuff threads, and chit-chat sorts of threads that usually are in an Off Topic area on other forums. The annoyance here is that the frequency of these kinds of threads in the General Discussion area tend to push down threads about all things games (game specifics, player experiences, game design aspects, game tech, general meaningful discussion about gaming). And so the General Discussion area tends to feel rather meaningless, where much less meaningful discussion about gaming takes place than what could be the case.

On the forum in general, I feel that it is poorly utilized and organized where things such as game reviews are pushed out to some other place outside of the discussion area, wishlist sorts of things are pushed out from the main discussion to some other place, and chit-chat sort of things become the center of the discussion forum, making the discussion forum much less of a community centered around meaningful discussion (about games) than it could be.

I suppose that I keep coming here, despite the above mentioned annoyances, for a single reason alone. GOG offers exclusively DRM-free games. But it is really a shame that coming to the site feels so anti-user.
The General Discussion area of the forum is the Off Topic area of the forum.

Melvinica: The General Discussion area of the forum is the Off Topic area of the forum.
If that is the case, then there isn't an On Topic area of the forum where users can discuss gaming in general without being crowded out by Off Topic discussions or threads about game specifics being shutdown (such as attempts by users to write reviews where discussion can follow).

It's just a matter of opinion. It fits me just fine as it is.
I can't put anything in the basket, or even see any of the games on the main page.
1. Stay logged in, problem solved. Alternately, use a Google account. Alternately, get GOG to start using a valid authentication system.

2 When you say older?

3. See above.

4. What specific attributes are you looking for that aren't provided by the features selector?

5. You probably don't have enough games for it to vary up.

6. All the games have individual communities, that's why there's an "all forums" button.

7. See above and consider installing Barefoot Essentials.

8. Oh, and don't forget to crank up the topic per page number.

9. There are also Discord servers, if you'd prefer that kind of flow.
Besides, I still don`t know what a "Discord Server" is.

You're not the first to bring this up. ;)

Agree with pretty much everything else you said. A heartfelt +1 for the OP! You might also want to check out this thread where you will see that many of your concerns are shared by other members of this community.

Guys, why every profile picture i upload, in any possible resolution, in my GOG profile it looks like 120p? Not even Facebook cuts this amount of quality.

Is there any trick? Everyone i see have a crispy clean picture

Maybe because they are 120p. ;)

They even have your avatar stored in full resolution as you can see here.

But I'm afraid your avatar icon won't ever look much better than this.

Perhaps you might have a better experience if you didn't use a 'phone to access the site.

Imagine IRC with more features, or alternately, Skype with less suck and a dark mode. See here. No registration required to try it out.

Did you have a specific game-related topic to propose?

Maybe starting a topic about that might generate interest to keep it atop the churn.
