(I don't know how many people really care about Heroine's Quest coming here since the game is DRM-free on itch.io and presumably Steam, but I figured it couldn't hurt to make a thread to gauge and hopefully gather support.)

I recently contacted Pieter Simoons about the possibility of resubmitting Heroine's Quest for reconsideration of release here, in part because it seems like GOG is being more generous these days in allowing highly-desired free and freeware games here (which I am grateful for). I also made him aware of the community wishlist entries; the highest one has over 1,100 votes. He was open to resubmitting it and gave the okay for me to make this thread and publicly "gather support" for a release of Heroine's Quest here.

Unless I'm really missing a reason why the game should not appear here (again I'll admit it's already DRM-free elsewhere), in the vein of Dink Smallwood, OpenTTD, Daggerfall Unity, etc. appearing here recently I'm asking GOG to allow Heroine's Quest onto the store. (And I'd encourage allowing the Developer Appreciation Package as well.) Winter in general seems like an appropriate time to release the game (given the snow and ice in the game) but I understand GOG naturally has releases planned well in advance.

I'd love to see the game here on GOG.
Added my vote.

It is also available in Humble Store and Fireflower, so there's really no need to have it on GOG just to have it DRM-free.

It might be nice in the sense of having all/most games in one store, but otherwise there are plenty of places to download it from, both free and DRM-free.

Then again, I never oppose getting more adventure games in the catalogue, so it's not a bad idea as such.
But there are other games that would be more important to have here, even from Crystal Shard.
As always, the more the merrier.

We already got a couple free titles added to the catalogue over the past years (Dink Smallwood being the latest one, I think) so... absolutely, bring it.

And while you're at it ask Microsoft for MechCommander and MechCommander 2 + Hi-Rez for the Tribes games again.

Maybe something could be negotiated with Sony to get the unofficial source ports of Rollcage & Rollcage 2 (alongside their official PC ports from 1999 & 2000 respectively) on board too.

In case more credentials are needed:

Heroine's Quest is also featured in The CRPG Book (page 483):

"Heroine’s Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok (Crystal Shard, 2013 - Windows and Linux)

Crystal Shard is not new to adventure games. This indie studio has been developing them since 2001, but most of them are made with Adventure Games Studio and, on top of that, they are all free. So I didn’t expect much of Heroine’s Quest.
I was wrong. Imagine a parallel universe where Sierra released Quest for Glory in 2013, with the same VGA graphics, but bigger, with more RPG stats, and tuned to the Norse mythology. That’s Heroine’s Quest. Yes, it’s that good.

Any fan of QfG will immediately feel at home. It’s all very familiar: the similar graphics, the good old Sierra interface, the three classes – Warrior, Sorceress and Rogue – and the distinct battles with monsters. But it’s a parallel universe, remember? So, apart from some jokes about Harry Potter, The Hobbit and other modern references, the game is quite original.
Your heroine arrives in a small town during an unusually long winter. As it happens, this winter is unnatural, a sign of the forthcoming Ragnarok – the end of the world at the hands of monsters and frost giants. And, of course, it’s up to you to save the world, regardless of your initial less-then-average physical conditions and zero equipment.

The Adventure part is quite solid: most tasks are logical, and very rarely require guessing. Moreover, key tasks are marked on your map, so you’ll never lose track. Most quests can be solved in several ways, and each class has their own personal quests and goals. As a result, playing each class feels like a distinctively different game that follows the same plot and setting, so you could easily play it at least trice.
The role-playing aspect is also very well-thought-out. Your success in certain puzzles is determined by several stats and skills, which improve during your adventures while you use them, quite naturally.

Thus, climbing a tree will raise the “Climb” skill and also the “Strength” stat; casting “Fire shield” will raise the correspondent skill and the “Magic” stat; while battling with random monsters will raise almost everything – if you live to tell the tale.
Finally, there’s also a day-and-night cycle and three conditions you must constantly monitor: Cold, Sleep and Hunger. Sadly, while they offer some challenge at first, later they become simply a distraction that prevents you from finishing the game too fast.
Regardless, Heroine’s Quest is great, and I fully recommend it to any adventure lover – especially to those fond of the Quest for Glory games."

That's incorrect.

A Tale of Two Kingdoms, Starship Quasar, Quest for Yrolg and Larry Lotter and the Test of Time are all commercial, as in not free, releases.

And yes, it would be nice to have all of them on GOG.
Would sure be nice to have this here too, yep, and I was just mentioning it in the latest games you want on GOG thread. Yes, it is available in other DRM free places, but definitely can't hurt to have it in the best known one.
Would love to see the game here.
Signed! It´s free on itch.io, steam and others but it doesn´t hurt if it would be here too.
