PookaMustard: Well, the fact that they debuted first on Humble Bundle and not DRM-free should be a blow, minor as it is. That said, my main thought is to see these ports ported DRM-free as well, which is not a hope when you consider the titles you mentioned.
For single player titles, i don't see why they wouldn't be DRM-free. Even if they would be on Steam, they can be DRM-free, as many other games. Now, most awesome would be for some of these titles to have multiplayer too. I really can't remember a fighting game like Double Dragon or Golden Axe that have Co-op option. I remember we were having a lot of fun on arcade machines playing these kind of games co-op. They would be awesome multiplayer. So, in the case of an multiplayer implementation, i would definitely accept something like Steamworks servers and the DRM that would come with that. But i don't generally care about DRM, as it makes no difference whatsoever for me.
Anyway, i'm dreaming now. They didn't even wrote the keyboard bindings in these ports, you are still having the stick + colored buttons, like on arcades when you learn how to play. So, multiplayer would be long way ahead if it's planned to be implemented.
