I've been getting this installation error code on several installs recently, anybody know what's up? Can't find it anywhere. It says corrupt file, but I check integrity and everything checks out. I also after that code got this msg on today's install attempt (neverwinter nights 2 complete)

IPersistFile::Save Failed; code 0x80070005.
Access was denied.

Then when I hit ok to those, it starts attempting to install the C++ windows Redistributable (x64)

Then that fails saying unable to execute file ...TEMP\is-JMVGH.tmp\directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

Anybody know what the hell that all means? lol

I'm on windows 8 bootcamped on a macbook pro.

Thanks
Ah that's a classic, Witcher 3 right?

Lol, no not the Witcher 3. It was Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete for me today. Has happened on several different games though?

It's popular really? I couldn't find code 11 either in the support directory or by searching for it on the forum and google...

I say we drag this guy out and beat the shit out of him for assuming the entire forum can read his mind.
It's called Deep Blue Reading, it's where you guess something and claim that you knew it all along if it was right.
Also if you do decide to beat him up out back, I will of course side with whomever is winning the fight.

Edit: Ah I knew there was a W in there.

The problem is pretty obvious, I'd say.

The game is trying to install dependencies like the Visual C++ Runtime or DirectX but fails to do so because the user account the installation is running from doesn't have sufficient rights to install these.

Give your account administrator rights and it should work.
Don't give your administrator rights to Geralt, you don't know what he'll do with them.
I am set as the administrator of the computer. I'll try running it as administrator though and see if that does anything.

Usually that fixes a lot of the stuff related.
Thanks for the suggestion wolfsrain, it's already off though.
