Wishmaster777: I am always looking forward to see if Gog Connect is available when the discounts come with a title theme. It has been a while since this happened. I would not like to find out that this feature has been shut down like they did the fair prices. This is one of those unique features that make Gog great.
Agreed 100 percent, it was kinda nice to get some games that you didnt have to pay twice for, if they came out on GOG at a later date.
Come on, we didn't see one since end of Fair Price Program. If you call that a coincidence...

I mean, they skipped Summer Sale GOG Connect this year, I never saw them do that.

Something that I have noticed as well.
Jenny LeClue developers attempted to use GOG Connect, but apparently it didn't work out:

"GOG
We have become aware of a hiccup with connecting Steam accounts to GOG to unlock Jenny LeClue there. Having talked to the GOG team, they have informed us that it is not possible to unlock the game at this time. This is not what they communicated initially, and so we want to make sure if you’d prefer your copy on GOG that you can still get that."

This doesn't surprise me. From the start GOG've been very clear they don't want to be offered as an extra with Steam keys. It's either the Steam key, or the GOG key, not both.

I'm pretty sure they never intended for this kickstarter game to be handed out as Steam keys and then activated on GOG through connect.

Title question. I've had my GoG account for a couple of years now but I have only 7 games on it, I remembered that there was a way to connect your account and get a duplicate from your Steam library, but I was never able to pull that off. Is that thing still an option? How does it work?

https://www.gog.com/connect

Please note those are only limited-time offers, and they show up rarely, usually during a large sale. Last on was on Jun 4, but it was bugged and promptly disabled. No new offers showed up since then.
A handful of Steam games I have were released on GOG during the last few months, none of them showed up on GOG Connect. I did purchase them again since they were heavily discounted but I'm not all that keen on having to repurchase game I already own over and over and over again. Connect is such a damn letdown.

Just out of curiosity: have you made similar complaints to other stores? You know, you get games on GOG, you already have them so you'd like to get them for free elsewhere? Connect is just a bonus, not a tool to migrate all your library to GOG.
No, I haven't. As GOG is my main platform, you see. Steam comes in second place, I have five games or even less on Origin & Uplay. I play single player games exclusively and see absolutely no benefit of wanting the same DRM-free game on a DRM platform, even they'd hand them out for free, so I don't quite see the point that you're trying to make.
What's the purpose of Connect then if not to migrate games to a DRM-free platform?

Ditto.

To get more potential new customers to sign up here, it is just a marketing stunt which may or may not have cost a fortune to GOG, depending on whether the publishers agreed to allow the Steam licenses be duplicated to GOG licenses for free or if GOG had to pay them a more or less discounted price for each new license.
