News will be revealed to the public next week. The press has already taken part in a presentation for KCD 2, so it's no secret. All we have to do is wait for a teaser/game stills in a week.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an absolute favorite of mine, and the fact that we can finally experience the last third of Henry, the protagonist's story turns me into a teenage fanboy.

Interesting.
The question is - will it be at all historically accurate this time, because the first one was not no matter how much people say so.

What matters is if it's a good game. I don't care about historical accuracy.

and thats fair enough. i did enjoy what i went through story-wise. but most other things were a bit poo to say the least far as im concerned.

still, i made my comment ebcause it was a big selling / talking point and it turned out to be nearly untrue.

Are you talking about Cumans speaking Hungarian, the lack of crossbows (from what I read, they couldn't program it properly in time, and decided to axe it), the booster potions? I mean, it's a game, and it's fairly accurate when compared to other games. In any case, accurate or not, I enjoyed it as a game more than many other titles :D

the historically inaccurate archery, armour and weapon combos, the armour itself, fighting styles, horsemanship, lack of people just shitting everywhere...
I can go on.

I still enjoyed it - but mostly due to the dialogue / voice cast / bits of story.

Edit|: and given they couldnt even get archery basically right (and i mean on a very basic level) im surprised they didnt opt for crossbows at the start instead (much easier as its basically a gun with a low projectile arc).

Eh, I understand your frustration, especially if you're into HEMA. Regardless, it's still a piece of entertainment, so cutting it some slack (especially when it comes to the potions) is required, I'd think. Good thing people weren't shitting everywhere in game! Especially for owners of GameScent :P

Edit: in my second playthrough, I heavily relied on the Nighthawk potion. It kinda breaks the game. Actually, most potions break the game :/

Part of me now wants the dev team to read this and decide to change things. :D

Great timing! Right when I find myself with a high-end PC for the first time in 20 years. The original is my favorite game of the last 10 years that isn't made by a studio led by someone called Miyazaki or Yoko Taro.

Some great memories from the original, like actually feeling guilty when I saw that town guard patrolling in his underwear days after I mugged him and stole his armor and weapon. Or murdering all the monks at the Monastery whilst they were sleeping just because I couldn't be bothered working out which one had what I wanted.

Also looking forward to Kotaku's "where are all the black people" article.

I think I should replay the first game again in preparation.

I found Part 1 to be very awful & redundant after the first couple of hours, which seems to be where they put all of the exciting & interesting parts (albeit I never finished the game).

Maybe it ran out of steam quickly because they were afraid to put supernatural and/or fantasy elements into the game (even though doing so would have made the game become way better than it actually is).

Part 1 was also ludicrously unrealistic, for a game that supposedly prides itself on "realism" as its main selling point. For example, Part 1 doesn't even let you steal horses and keep them permanently, which is ludicrous, fun-ruining, and that makes no sense at all from a "realism" perspective.

I expect that Part 2 will be equally lackluster.

Once I finally was able to get into it, I had a lot of fun with the game. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a proper conclusion to Henry's tale. ... Father Godwin was my favorite character. That drunken sermon with Henry was ace. :)

Yes, that's totally what I'm missing the most out of my games. Feces! Lots and lots of feces! *gag* =P

I'm not too bothered by lack of complete accuracy. Gotta give games a little bit of leeway as too much accuracy can rightfully sap the fun out of them. It's still the only game that made me actual feel like I was playing in a proper medieval era.
I love Daniel Vavra's games! I hope KCD 2 will come to GOG too!

Yeah I did really enjoy the characters etc. - and yeah! That was a brilliant moment!

As I said before, its a case of it being touted as so historically accurate, when so little is. If they / fans hadn't done that it would be just a regular grump for me, rather than something I found immersion breaking.

But also... the archery was utter crap - no denying that.

Edit: I do hope they do a better job where i thought the first game was weak though. I'd love an improved version of what I played.

This reminds me to finally try the first KCD out but I'm kinda afraid of the combat to be honest. Can you at least save manually?
