As you have all likely seen, GOG is doing a pretty sweet promo/sale of the classic SW games, and as such(and to promote some of my favorite titles) I have decided to do a giveaway of some of them.

Games on offer are:

Dark Forces 1 - A good take on classic trilogy lore/plot with decent gameplay.

Dark Forces 2 - The best intro for Kyle Katarn, and a great game with good cutscenes/levels & light/dark side choices(and a branching bit of story/gameplay depending on the side you choose).

Jedi Outcast - A continuation of the DF 2 storyline, with Kyle Katarn in tow once again(albeit with a slightly different look/feel/playstyle).

They're actually some of my first forays into SW/ST gaming, as well as some of my first games in general, so they hold a soft spot in my heart.

Star Wars games? I can't resist that.

Another game worthy of a look at is Star Wars Rebellion (although some do have trouble running it on Windows 10). This little gem was sort of the progenitor of Empire at War, but it failed to capture all the good aspects of Rebellion, mainly the different tactics you can use to conquer planets (like fomenting rebellion on the planets then sabotaging troops on the planet to cause an immediate takeover).

I also bemoan Disney snubbing of the "Legends" Extended Universe. Sure, the storyline was a bit of a mess, but Disney could have followed the established story path and ironed out the inconsistencies with a tweak here or there, or just left that story alone and started a brand new story arch in what is a very big galaxy of characters and stories. From what I know, Kyle Katarn would have been a great choice to follow.

I'd like to be in for Jedi Outcast if it becomes available. Otherwise I'll try for the original Dark Forces.

You know as well as I that RESISTANCE IS FUTIL...err wrong series, nvm. ;)

DF 1 doesn't feature Kyla Katarn(afaik) but it is a prequel to DF2/Outcast/Academy of sorts. DF2 is a direct prequel of Outcast/Academy, though, and features Kyle Katarn.

I dunno about the vong, though.
