So Eurogamer, errrrr, Eurotrash, those paragons of virtue signaling and all around scumbags that wrote the hit piece about GoG and Linko - and cost Linko his job here - have been busted for being the parasites the are. Paul Watson was busted for selling illegal vinyl copies of copyrighted Nintendo Music. On top of that, his company never sent the vinyl records out to those who paid for the merchandise.

Seriously awesome Karma.

Video

Paul Watson has now gone private on Twitter, deleted his facebook and instagram pages.

Story

People on Twitter have notified Nintendo (and, oh boy, do their lawyers love protecting the Nintendo IP).

Another article and screen shots

Eurotrash keeps deleting anybody who posts or creates forum topics on the issue.

And it isn't just Paul Watson. Other members of the Eurotrash staff and scumbags who have written for gamesindustry.biz are involved too.

This is just awesome. Hopefully, the entire company gets Gawkered and goes out of business. No more eurogamer, usgamer, gi.biz and their other assets.

Linko, was that the idiot running the Twitter page? Not much to miss there.

I'm not muchn into Linko(he was around when I was away from GOG)...but why did GOG fire him so quickly over a hitpiece? You'd think they'd have more integrity than that.

Also if they're basically shown as bad people now why haven't GOG seen this and offered an apology/new job to him? If not I think they should.

Didn't he just make a few bad jokes/twitter replies that pissed off a few people? Why be glad that he was fired over such/say it's not much to miss? Or do you just dislike twitter for some reason?

(I am genuinely curious and am not just syaing these things to rag on ya)

The twitter posts were funny and GoG shouldn't have had him thrown by the wayside because some corporate fascists hiding behind trannys launched a media attack.

Contrast it with burger kings twitter post which looked like it encouraged people to misuse milkshakes.

And the bloke/gal who made that twitter post and others is probably still working for BK.

Pretty sure Linko cost Linko his job here.

Do you have any more info on that? From what I saw GoGs twitter person took popular trends than made light hearted comments based around it.

The info is there, I'm not getting into this discussion, especially not with people who want to throw offensive slurs around.

How so? If it's because of a few tweets that weren't meant to offend then that's piss poor reason to fire someone(imo).

This thread seems to sum it up.

1. You got into it already....why not stick around and answer a few replies?

2. I think people should be willing to have debates/talks even with those they dislike....maybe especially with those they dislike/disagree with, as those often lead to the best conversations. Also saying one won't talk to someone because someone said x bad word or has y belief they dislike as a means to shut down a conversation feels a bit wrong, imo.

Of course you are free to keep on as you feel appropriate, as always.

It's too bad that thread was locked......it seems a good read(so far, from reading page 1).

This is also the Link90 support thread. A lot of people were not happy. Of course the direction GoG has been heading the past couple of years keeps compounding things.

Linko support thread
Firing staff over a handful of people being upset over tweets, dropping fair price packages when buying games, odd curation system(with hardly any public guidelines as to what it entails), etc...

Yes, and I often do enjoy civilized discourse with people who are civilized, but when people start throwing around offensive language without provocation (in this thread for that matter) it's easy to predict where the conversation is going, and how long such discourse will remain civil. I try not to engage with those who will willingly and knowingly insult others for little to no reason because there is no reason. You can't rationalize or discuss things with irrational folk, and further more, using offensive language to insult others shows a willingness not to discuss, but rather to start a heated discussion.

It's a lot to say, but it is my reasoning behind choosing not to engage him any farther. It's not that I am unwilling to discuss it, I am unwilling to discuss it with someone interested in more than just civil discussion.
