Darvond: …Paste into word… I see we already have a layer 8 issue here.
Since you're in WIndows 10, there are several potential means by which you could obtain a screenshot. Of which the most simple would be to use WIn+G.
Thanks for your reply, though I don't appreciate the unnecessary and condescending "Layer 8" comment.
I should have been more clear that I'd like to take a screenshot to clipboard specifically.
Playing through the old Myst games, using the alt print screen and pasting into Word has been a great way to get a 640x480 image blown up to a viewable size for reference while playing the games as well as keeping related screen shots organized in the document.
In windows 10, I think the easiest way to take a screenshot to clipboard is with win-shift-s which also produces the gray screen in Myst Exile. I think this is because of ResidualVM, thought I'm not sure.
Regarding Win-G I went through the process of creating an account and signing in to the XBox app, but the Win-G shortcut, though flashing the screen in Myst Exile would not produce an image in the video/capture location it's configured to put them. I'm under the impression that ResidualVM is creating a barrier for the screen captures.
Maybe someone without a Layer 8 issue can figure that out...

mike_cesara: I'm not sure how things work in newest Windows versions, but there is always a way to make a screenshot with third party software. Like
MSI Afteburner for example.
Unlike the Win-G recommendation which I could not get to work, this in fact did work.
My computer is an MSI Stealth Pro GS73VR and had Afterburner on it.
In the Afterburner settings under the Screen Capture tab, I added a hotkey for screen capture and changed the default location from the public pictures to my user pictures directory and I'm happily taking screenshots of Myst Exile.
Thank you for the tip!
