Kind of surprised this hasnt been mentioned yet.

CDPR is apparently working with Netlfix on a new Cyberpunk show.

Honestly, given how good Edgerunners was, Im looking forward to this but hope:
1) it is a seperate story from Edgerunners which has ended well
2) isnt live action

Hope this one turns out well.

It's bound to be more anime, so there's zero chance of that.

Given Edgerunners is one of the few video game adaptations that has been anywhere near decent and two of the three decent adaptations have been animated (Arcane, Fallout), being animated isnt a big deal imo.

Much rather have a good story that is animated than something like Like a Dragon or Halo.

You misunderstand. "Animated" is not a problem. "Anime" is. I love animated movies and tv shows, some of my favorites of all time are animated. But I absolutely detest anime.

But it has?

IF this is about the same project.
I stopped being excited about anything being on Netflix after the great exodus. I'm sure they have quality original shows, but most of it felt like the kind of thing you'd see at film festivals at best.

Pretty sure this is a different project.
We havent heard anything about the live action as far as I know apart from likely release in 2025, its live action, and that Anonymous Content is going to be co-partnering (creating the project).

The Netflix video makes no mention of Anonymous and in its description has the following tag.
Netflix Animation

Your loss, sucker. Japan has a much better reverence for animation than the U.S., which is why their industry for it is much bigger and healthier.

I'm not sure what "better reverence for animation" is, but anyway... shrug. It's not like "health of industry" or whatever can somehow override my sense of aesthetic.

Also, US and Japan are not all there is in the world. Two of my favorite animation studios are Irish Cartoon Saloon and British Aardman. France also seems to make a lot of good animated movies, though admittedly I've got some catching up to do with their stuff before I can declare favorites.
