I'm receiving chat notifications (there is a "1" next to Chat in account), but when I go there, there isn't anything new (and the "1" disappears).

Can't find anything in the "what did just break" thread. Is this just a notification glitch, or am I actually receiving PMs that I can't read. Anyone else experiencing this?

Maybe a few weeks back I had something similar with an Update notification. I'd go to my library and find there were no updates. Took about 3 hours to catch up. Check back later, I suppose.

I just "removed" someone since they were an obvious scam artist (they sent me a 419 kind of message) so you may be seeing that but I am not 100% sure.

Ah yes. I forgot about chats from deleted users.

Good thing the "1" doesn't stay permanently in this case....

If was instead a 418 kind of message then it might've gotten to be a rather hot and steamy chat…
