this really annoys me: for some games there are deluxe/complete/whatever editions. for most of these you can buy an upgrade to convert your normal edition to deluxe.

when i buy the upgrade, it should turn my normal edition to deluxe, and show the deluxe as owned as well. this does not always work. for example i have tropico 5 plus later i bought the complete collection upgrade. however, in the shop, while the base game and the upgrade are shown as owned, the complete collection is shown as unowned. this sucks, my library is quite big, in the future i might buy the complete collection by mistake as there is no indication i own it.

same problem with witcher 3 by the way, i own the GOTY edition, but the base game plus DLCs is shown as onwned. highly inconvenient.

please do something about this.

Yeah, this has been a known issue for a long time. It'll never get fixed.

GOG is aware of this issue, but it has gone unfixed for more than 3 years. It usually occurs when you buy the base game and the upgrade, but not the complete edition directly.

I think it might at least warn you in the checkout if you try to buy something containing a product you already own... But yeah it should mark them as owned. Shouldn't even be that hard to implement but it really depends on how they class DLC etc. in the shop...
I wish they'd fix this at some point. Alas it seems unlikely. And don't even let me start complaining about preorders. I still don't see Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny as owned.
Bump. Maybe they'll fix this sometime if we keep posting about it :)

If you're still keeping track. Buying Cities in Motion + DLC will also not tag the Cities in Motion Collection as owned.
Sometimes even buying the complete edition isn't enough.

I've recently bought Wasteland 2 Director's Cut Digital Deluxe Edition.
The Deluxe Edition Upgrade shows up as owned, but Wasteland 2 Director's Cut Digital Classic Edition shows as not owned for me...
At least it looks like you own the game. I pre-ordered Pillars of Eternity, and the pre-order version is different from all of the retail versions. Whenever POE goes on sale, I always have to double check that I own the game, because NO versions of it show up as owned for me.

It was the same thing with the kickstarter keys for Wasteland 2 and Divinity: Original Sin.
I own the original Witcher 3, later I got a code from GOG for the Witcher 3 complete that included the expansion pass, and later yet they granted everyone who owned the game and expansions the GOTY as well.

The game shows up as owned, the expansions individually show up as owned, the GOTY shows up as owned and is in my shelf, but the standalone expansion pass perpetually shows up as not owned.

Their database software is in desperate need of some mechanism for determining equivalence for ownership in the store front at least. It need not add anything extra to your library shelf as we don't need 8 copies of the same thing in our library, but there should be a concept of equivalence on their own end to know we own something already.
Buying the White March expansion packs together does not mark either as owned. Owning the PoE Royal edition doesn't mark the lesser editions as owned, despite the fact that the editions are inclusive upgrade editions (and there is not option to purchase upgrades separately, ya bastards).
Recently I bought Wasteland 2 plus Deluxe Upgrade. Guess what happened.

On the other hand... AFAIK at checkout the system manages to check if you already own the game. That's at least something :-D
