neosapian: people above here mention nothing I don't already know!
they do not reserver the right to lie and say "according to gog policy we cannot refund a game played over 2 hours"!
I am having a lot of trouble finding this exact quote in your ticket history. Could you please send me the ticket ID so I can take a closer look at the wording the agent used?

Other than that, other users already said all that could be said: please be aware that every game is somehow different. 2 hours of playtime of The Witcher 3 is super short in comparison to 2 hours in... for example, When the Past Was Around (great game by the way).

"Too short for the money" is one the predefined reasons for a refund, so I'd hope it's a valid reason. The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day can be finished in 3 hours.

neosapian: the game in question is Uncertain: The Last Quiet Day." it was too short! it was too much money for the time it took!
Note that you'll need to change your privacy settings to allow chat messages from everyone in order to send ponczo_ the requested ticket number.

I knew I wasn't exactly buying a masterpiece when I got it on sale for 1.49€. I spent nearly 7 hours playing it, though someone not interested in getting all achievements would be done in a fraction of the time, as mentioned above. It is definitely not worth full price.

So, on the store page under Tags... the word "Short" wasn't a red flag for you?

Mate, I can appreciate when a game is poor quality, or it's really buggy, or something like that it's totally fair to expect a refund. But from what I remember of it, it was a pretty decent game. It was short, I wouldn't pay much for it myself either (in fact I got it on Steam for free), but that's how things roll. The price of the product doesn't ever reflect the length of it. It's you who has to do due diligence and work out whether the game is worth purchasing in the first place, not trialling it and deciding later it wasn't a good price.

EDIT: Actually from the number of games you own here, you should already know price doesn't reflect quality. I can't work out how you missed this game was a short one. You're no noob at purchasing games!

I hope this is a lesson learned whether you get a refund or not. Research your purchases a bit more carefully. Even a review here or there is likely going to turn up the phrase "it is a short game".

neosapian: I thought only grandmothers of 92 in nursing homes got as delusional as...
That was rude. In 2021 I had met in a nursing house a woman of 110 years, who had a much clearer mind than some acquaintances of mine I can think of.

neosapian: yes you heard it right! 30 days!
This is where you mentioned 30 days, in such a manner that it was interpreted how it was interpreted.

Most here are reacting to what seems a sense of entitlement on your part, one we don't agree with because you played the game for more than two hours. Sure GOG don't specifically mention a timeframe, but one should be reasonable about such. They do state not using a Refund as a kind of Review if you don't like the game.

In any case, GOG also need to make things clearer by defining them. Played does not necessarily mean Completed, but it can be taken that way.

While we don't know what you paid for the game, it seems pretty clear you were engaged enough by it and got enough back from it to play it more than two hours. Some suspect you got your money's worth, especially as it is noted as being a short game. Being upset at the Brevity is a pretty clear indicator you were enjoying it enough to want more.

Sometimes I eat a meal, and think that was great, there should have been more. I don't ask for a refund though, because there wasn't more.

neosapian: they didn't say anything about "2 hours" and nobody has really answered. I said -nothing- about 30 days

neosapian: even though I see absolutely nothing indcaitcaing it,
GOG rep has told me they cannot refund me full amoutn based on "hours of play" stating I "played more than 2 hours".
Okay!| fine! where in the policy does it state this!

The 30 days refound policy give you the right to ASK for a refound but not the GUARANTEE it will be granted. Each case is evaluated by a support staff, they observe the hours you play, the kind of game, if it was downloaded before ask for the refound, the reason of he refound, etc. And then decide if they give you a refound or not.
This is to prevent the abuse of the policy, small indie games can be severely affected by this, so they actively monitored the situation to prevent problems.

BreOl72: Also - buyer beware:
70+% of the reviews on GOG's store alone mention that the game is short (and/or ends quickly on a cliffhanger). The game is tagged Short. All of this is easily available to read on the store page. How much more warning do customers need?

I believe that was BreOl's point.

Ice_Mage: I got it on sale for 1.49€.
It looks like they lowered the base price since I bought it. I got it for -90% at 1.49€ and it's currently -85% at 1.19€.

Well then I'm totally agreeing with him!
