I find almost all indie games that try to be "cozy" to be ugly and uninteresting. This one though actually looks pretty cute and charming.

I find the recent "rise" or that term in relation to games just somewhat confusing. I never quite get what it's supposed to mean, but is seems to denote what I would consider "boring" more than anything else. As for visuals it seems to apply to pretty much anything someone happens to think is nice.

Yeah it's pretty nebulous, but when I hear the term I usually think "low effort child-like art and minimal gameplay", very much casual mobile fodder.
