NuffCatnip: If there weren't any other games around, maybe, but with Metaphor and the half dozen other games I'm playing right now, not really.
Complains about a DRM-free release to play a heavily DRM-ed one instead. Totally makes sense! =P
Well it's about bloody time, at least they have the decency to launch with a solid discount after such a long wait.
Neat.
Hope Banishers doesn't take this long to make it here.
I was having this game on my wishlist for a long time and finally it is here.

Although it looks a bit like a souls-like game, the game doesn't have a tag like this (e.g. "difficult" or something). So there doesn't seem anything in the way of buying it :)
Thank you GoG!

NuffCatnip: No thanks, won't purchase this, nobody bothered to answer my questions regarding a gog release until maybe a month or so ago once they dropped that info on their Discord.
You realize sometimes those people don't know a thing/are not allowed to disclose that information, right? I understand it can be frustrating, but it's a reality

Like, we're not talking about an obviously rude publisher (like Nicalis)

I complained about the massive delay, not the game itself. :P
If the devs and or publishers weren't as crappy as they were, I'd have purchased this game in an instant.

Me mentioning a PS 5 game I purchased as an example was just to showcase that there's a lot of games out to play. I wouldn't say I lose out on Atlas Fallen if there's so many titles to choose from. :)

I get that, but after politely asking a few times on Discord via PMs (different people, not the same guy over and over again), the least I'd expect is a copy paste 'Sorry, we can't say wether or not titles x releases on platform Y.'

But I got nothing, even triple A publishers give you the courtesy of a response.

And Metaphor even has Denuvo, so it's even more of a laugh.

There are so many times I never get any kind of response and I never hold it against the devs. As long as the game comes here eventually, I'm fine. That said, I'm buying this.

Honestly, there is usually some "big boss" in the background that is almost never on a discord or another chat... and this boss is pulling the strings, no one else. You usually simply ask the wrong people and they get annoyed by the same questions hundred of times they are not even able to answer for certain.

However... if you know the one truly in charge and there is absolutely no answer, it may happen, then it surely is rude.

There are indeed many indie-devs that do not bother to answer nor handing out any statement regarding some valid questions, or they suddenly may change their opinion. In most cases they simply say "nothing planned" and thats it. In usual they may need a good bait or good reason in order to put in some "extra work", which may not always be rewarding enough on GoG.

Sure, Deck 13 is not a "indie dev" but as well not really big, it is somewhere in the "middle range" with up to 80 employee it seems. Certainly, they are already to big in order to have a "big chief" lurking around in a discord...

Regarding Atlas Fallen: GoG actually was putting it on "coming soon" for nearly a eternity and it was at least clear to us... at some point there might be a GOG release. The time it takes to arrive was totally unsure... it could be a few months or even over a year. It was clear to me, so i never bothered to "ask around", simply pointless. Finally it is here and in almost the best shape ever... which was not the case right at the launch-period.

Just imagine if they announced the GOG release date ahead of time instead of releasing practically silently.

The only review of the game, so far, is interesting to say the least.

Does Galaxy have any built in system to play LAN games, or indeed, the user it's right and Galaxy is only used for authentication?
Attachments:
Highly subjective, not to mention blowing things out of proportion, isn't it.

The multiplayer part of a recent game released on GOG is tied to Galaxy, what else is new?

The vast majority of people purchasing games on GOG do so primarily for the singleplayer offline experience, and couldn't care less about multiplayer.

"DRM scam"... behave.
Game is running great in Linux using a WINE GE wrapper in Heroic.
