The Big Apple is rotten to the core. How about a bite?

<span class="bold">Beat Cop</span>, a retro-styled, nonlinear adventure about beating the odds and perils of 80's Brooklyn, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com!

From NY detective to traffic warden, it's a long way to fall. And Jack Kelly didn't exactly land on his feet, either. With the false murder accusations ruining both his life and career, his only ticket to a decent existence is working the mean Brooklyn streets while looking for the real culprits.

NOTE: The game's soundtrack is included as a bonus goodie.

I will wait for a deep sale. One of those games where there is too much to do within a time period, so it forces you to prioritize. The reviewer I watched compared it to Papers Please, and I could see the similarities.

I'm sorry, but GOG will continue to release adventure games all the time as long as we consider every game to be an adventure game, which seems to be the case. They should change the genre to rpg for every game, as we are always playing a role anyway. it's a win-win, as the genre has more popularity and people would whine as much, right? Sorry, forget it; my mistake.

Don't buy it yet, it's still in development. Latest patch breaks the game hard, you can't get past any "15 minutes later..." waiting screen.

What little I was able to play before I foolishly grabbed the patch and broke the game was pretty fun, tho

Have you seen cockroaches in Texas? I call that plausible.

Actually you can by pressing "p" to pause, however the text will remain on your screen and you won't be able to use anything on the bottom [radio, cuffs etc.]. Still you'll be able to walk around and write tickets till the end of the day, but in order to regain all the options you'll need to Alt+F4 out of the game or you won't have anything the next day either.

But yeah, this definatelly needs to be patched really soon and it's best for most to wait a bit.

For the time being, you can play normally, you just need to restore the old version (unfortunately you can't, if you didn't keep the installer. Maybe through Galaxy, not sure).
I'm at day 11 and never experienced this problem in v.1.0.571.
The dev messed something up in v.1.0.582.

Happen very often and very annoying bug. The game is fun although I wish it could be like stardew valley but with cops

edit. Also I encounter a bug where I insta game over when tailing Farid on day 21 to his car.
Not only the game is time consuming , now my opinion of the game just drop more and more. What a bug ridden game
