Nymphomaniac - Sex Addict is a visually stunning, photorealistic game – and it’s now available in early access on GOG!

The action of the game takes place in the apartment of a nymphomaniac - Vydija. Her apartment is full of activities and mini-games. The player can explore them in any order and pace. Time passes slowly, and if we are careful, Vydija's story will never end, allowing us to play it in another time loop.

Now on GOG!
You actually understand those people pretty well but in another shape: It is the same kind of people always telling the owner of a garden how to treat their garden.

Critics is good if it matters to you. But if it is actually not your matter because "not your garden" or "not your game you ever are going to buy"... it is intrusive.

GamezRanker: Was that John Candy in the crowd?
I don't think so .

Shock Treatment was made after Rocky Horror Picture Show

PaterAlf: In which twisted parallel universe would Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac be considered extremely brutal horror torture porn? It has a FSK16-Rating here in Germany and similar ratings in several other European countries and it ran successfully in most arthouse cinemas.

It certainly isn't a fun family movie, but "extremely brutal horror torture porn" is on of the most ridiculous exaggerations I've ever heard.

TheGrimLord: We may be talking about another film entirely, or we prudish Americans must consider it a bit too much for our senses. Probably one of the two. (shrugs)

Edit: Ah, I got this one completely mixed up with another film series (Nekromantik 1&2). I haven't seen either of these and now I'm intrigued after looking them up.
That or you're thinking of Lars von Trier's Antichrist, which does feature sexual mutilation, and anyone saying they were a fan of his would be familiar with.

SargonAelther: Is that the one with Shia LaBeouf? I might check it out, I had heard of it, but then I forgot it existed lol.

MarkoH01: He is in it but he is not the main character.

TheGrimLord: Might not be a good idea to recommend what some might consider extremely brutal horror torture porn over a simple sex game like this one. I'm aware of these films and where to see them online.
avatar
MarkoH01: Sorry for OT but you have no idea what Lars von Triers films are about - don't you? This is far from being horror porn ... if you think this you have absolutely no clue about movies and you definitely never saw this one.
Get a grip you muppet

It seems it was just a look alike. Ah well, will still eventually get to it (after some more horror films for Halloween).

I don't know why you think you had to say this but this is the nicest insult I ever heard.

Aside: If you haven't seen it you should check out The Happytime Murders (film).

lubwak: There are so many interesting games you have prevented from being released on GOG per "quality assessment", and yet you allow this kind of hot garbage these days. Way to sink the platform, gee! At least introduce "not interested, do not show" filters on the shop webpage.

Too much junk "games" on GOG... It's not porn site.

It has been mentioned in another thread that GOG is working on implementing a filter option of some kind. Don't know if it will be only for NSWF/AO stuff or also for violent stuff, but they are aware about the issue.

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/hide_porn_games_please/post21

(I personally don't understand why it is so problematic to see these games here - especially since the screenshots don't show anything more explicit than you would see on amazon if at all .. but maybe this information makes some people feel better.)

Let's just hope they won't break something else in the process.....

Me neither, especially there is a push button before reaching a said game's store page and warnings on each of those game's store page.

I simply would add what i already said long ago : if Steam "sell" those why GOG shouldn't ...

GoG knows already what you want, an adult filter so your innocent life may not turn into a constant nightmare. They are working on it they said.

It is not possible of making anyone changing their position once they got into this position, because this is a "extreme position" that is rooted very deep into someones psyche and "believe system". So, and discussion related to it are pointless because the sides will just try to demolish each others with all they got, because very biased.

Anyway, this is not the right topic for this and even so... there is no solution to it other than just providing the necessary tools and functionalities, so everyone can show up the stuff to themself they actually enjoy. I guess some people may even wish a "violence free-filter" but this is most likely rather science fiction in a world full of violence everywhere... even more than porn.

I enjoy to be a dreamer but i can be a realist too, because in the end... the thing i enjoy the most is truth, no ignorance and a full horizon; else i may never achieve wisdom, something dear to me.

So... back to the game!

That could for said for any type of game. That said, i'm honestly amazed you're trying to help/improve gog after your countrymen have been kicked off of gog shoppe for 2 years. But if ya want to go that route then by all means.

It's because today's mainstream internet user** has been coddled and protected so much that they need filters and blocks and all sorts of similar options to "protect" their fragile minds. Sad state of affairs, really.
(**note that I am not talking about those who just want more options and are civil about asking for such)

Tbh I think some(not all) of the recent "hide pron" threads are more trolling than serious, meant to get attention and replies. That said, I hope the filters come soon so they can chillax(who am I kidding, they'll likely whine about something else).

I agree, probably every second "offense and offended post" is a borderline-syndrome trying to drag attention by flaming and causing unrest. Those people do not even deny violence... let alone the thing they apparently fight for... or against. The world is a lake of falsehood and trust need to be earned, it can not be given out of nowhere.

I would really like people to understand that not everyone, probably not even the majority of people asking for the "hide" function have some moral issue with sex, nudity or porn. I know it's easier to dismiss people you disagree with once you lable them all as extremists of some kind, and it's easier in general to ignore all nuance and just apply labels to people en masse, it just has the somewhat considerable downside of being, you know... bullshit.

I have no issues with porn. I don't think it's wrong, immoral or dangerous. I just have no interest in porn games, just like I have zero interest in sports games. I just want to hide the ever increasing number of games that I will never in a million years be interested in for convenience sake.

The second issue is, as already stated in this thread, GOG's supposed curation. The vast majority of porn games are obvious trash, so in conjunction with maintaining the pretense of curation and al the much better (at least not garbage) games GOG rejected over the years it just reeks of the kind of hypocrisy that annoys people. (And yes, I know some people will vehemently disagree about the porn games being trash)

None of that has anything to do with any "extreme position" and being a repressed puritan fanatic.

You're fine. The problem is the ones who think that way and trolls that act like they do have said their bit ad nauseum on the forums already, which has caused a percentage of forum users to become (imo understandably) tired of such. Some handle it decently, while a select number will sadly lump all such posts together and reply to them in the same manner.
