Definitely. I'll hold off buying this one until they release the first. It drives me up the wall when we get sequels before the original.
I do hope the first game gets released as it does give pause to by a sequel without playing the first game...... I also hope this isn't one of those cases were the second game is being used to test the waters meaning if it doesn't sell well we won't get the first game or others from this developer.

In regard to a release of the first game, respectively, why that isn't here (yet):

Has probably to do with who the publishers were/are.

On Steam, the publishers for the first game are:
SOFTSTAR ENTERTAINMENT (= the devs themselves) and Gamera Games.

Whereas the publishers for the second game are:
PQube and Gamera Games.

Here on GOG (where only the second game is available), the publishers are also:
PQube and Gamera Games.

Indeed. For me, there is no reason to buy it without the previous part.

I can't say I've heard of these games before.
