Since Reternal is available from the always first source for PC, I wonder if it can sort of be made drm free with fixed files. This would not be pirating since you would be paying for it, just playing it by not becoming a S***M slave! or could it be installed without S***M?

According to PCGamingWiki, all versions on all stores are DRM'd.

There is a rumor that mentioning other stores' names gets you banned, which obviously doesn't happen. See: Steam, Epic, Fireflower, Indiegala, HumbleBundle, Fanatical, Ubisoft, Origin, itchio.

Only way to get a Drm free release is to show Sony they can make money on drm free and the only way to do that right now is to buy Horizon zero dawn here.

And NOT to buy when it is DRMed elsewhere.

I think usage of the word Steam is the least of your worries. It almost sounded like you were asking if you can crack the game.

If you want it here, make a wishlist entry in the community wishlist and be done with it.

If you want to crack your Steam version, ask so in the Steam forum or check one of the many crack sites.
