The Collector - Spring Sale Recommendations
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C45gf9QvqkA
Greetings GoG,

I have recently introduced a new little series to my channel called The Collector where I give recommendations about video games that have been on my watchlist for quite a while when they go on sale. For this episode we are tacking the GoG Spring Sale.

If you were born in the 90s, have a penchant for Strategy / Management / Adventure Point & Click games then you might find something that you would like if you weren't already aware of it!

Otherwise, I would like to welcome any criticism and also new recommendations that I may have personally missed out of this great sale. My objective is to create a couple more episodes covering this sale before it ends and I would be more than glad to include your recommendation in it as well! :)

A small context and blurb about why you would like to recommend this game would be great! If you feel we have similar tastes then feel free to throw in anything you might think is worth it out of this great sale

For those that do not want to go watch the video, I will provide a transcript of the Recommendations here:
INFO: Prices are in CAD$

Episode One:
1. Gobliiins Pack
The Goblins series are adventure point and click games by Coktel Vision. Another well known game from them is The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble
I first encountered it while playing the educational game Adi, the elder cousin of Adiboo for those that know it.
It is a great little gem for those that really enjoy point and click adventure games, its colorful graphics and speechless humor really captivates you into their world.

2. Heroes Chronicles: All Chapters
It is a turn-based strategy game using the same engine as heroes of might and magic 3 as some of you may already be familiar. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is considered one of the best in the series.
Chronicles contains eight chapters meaning you have 8 different campaigns for the price of 4.39, since we just cannot get enough of Heroes 3, I believe its worth your time to grab this guy.

3. Gemini Rue
As a fan of point and click adventure games, Wadjet Eye Games has been on my watch list for quite a while.
The company has been producing old school retro styled point and click games in the same veins as Broken Sword and Beneath a Broken Sky.
If you liked games such as the Blackwell Chronicles and Resonance and you are an avid veteran of point and click adventure games, then Gemini Rue should be right in your alley

4. Dungeon Keeper 1/2
The dungeon keeper franchise is an emblem in the strategy and management genre. You incarnate the dungeon keeper and instead of being the hero, are the bad guy.
Your role is to create a dungeon and manage its citizens to attract heroes and bring them to their doom.
I personally have never played a lot of this game in the past, my cousin on the other hand played a great deal of it. Being cheaper than a meal at McDonalds it is pretty much worth to acquire both games.
These two games are more worthwhile than the modern incarnations of the franchise according to several players’ opinion.

5. The Settlers 2/3/4
We are bundling all 3 games together as despite being a definitive upgrade from last iteration, they are quite similar and each iteration is not of a significant enough change for it to be worth its separate entry.
The settlers series always has had a special place in my heart as one of the best strategy management games that I’ve ever encountered. In fact this series is pretty much what got me interested in the genre
At the great price of 4.39 each they are definitely worth your money as they are one the best in the genre, the newer games today have all been inspired by this series up to some extent. These were for quite a while on my wishlist and this sale has permitted me to grab them at a really discounted price!

6. Railroad Tycoon 2: Platinum
Railroad Tycoon 2 is one of the best games for the tycoon genre, while being one of the best railroad and transportation simulations around. Railroad Tycoon 2 has been brought back to be fully compatible with your modern machine by GoG
I first played this game when I was a kid, and I barely understood what the hell was going on. With OpenTD being a free alternative to the game, sometimes it just feels good to play a vintage tycoon game which has left its mark in the history of the genre.

You can't post links until you have a certain number of rep (7-10 I think) or using a trick to get around this (using quote tags).

Startopia was schedule for Ep2 and a few of the X-Com games were already on my wishlist :)
Is Civ3 the same that was on the PS1? Playing it on Box screened TVs used to make my eyes bleed...

Definitely bookmarked the MaGoG, didn't know this search engine existed

Well, if you want to bring your viewers something new, you should play CIV IV: Colonization with the TAC (The Authentic Colonization) mod.
And CIV IV: BASE (Beyond the sword addictive selection of enhancements) mod. :-)

Thanks for your input :)

Is the Civ4 Community still active? This game has always been recommended by my friends whom I used to play Civ5 with as the best one in the series. How do you find it compared to the 6th one?

Never played number six. But from what I heard, it is not as good as number four.

Hmm Ill definitely add this recommendation, it seems that Civ4 is considered to be one of the best in the series by a lot of people
