Can anyone help me? The last free game (Deep Sky Derelicts) when I went to activate it, it turned into a gift instead of adding it to my account. I believe this happened because a moment before, I activated it in an alternative account that I have for testing and after I entered and went to activate it in my main one, it was as if it had already been activated.

But the game is not on my account and when I try to use the gift code I accidentally generated, it is not accepted. That is, I am as if I had a game without having it. It doesn't appear on my shelf or on the Galaxy. I even entered my alternate account to see if I had made a mistake, but there it is normal.

Yes, for testing. No quotes at all.
Result of the test is that games are limited to one per IP. Testing successful.

I've always done this and it never happened. So much so that the previous games they offered for free I managed to get on both accounts. And if it was for the IP, I wouldn't have gotten a gift.

That's expected behavior when you already own the game. Try the refresh links. Open one in a new tab and let it load fully. Then do the same with the second. There won't be a confirmation message or anything. Just reload the library page afterwards and see if it helped.
https://www.gog.com/account/refresh
https://www.gog.com/user/refresh

If that doesn't help, you can try logging out, then logging in using a private browsing/incognito window. See if the giveaway banner on the homepage has the "Add to library" button then. I honestly doubt it, but it's worth a shot.

If all else fails, open a support ticket. Though I don't know if having multiple accounts is against the terms of service and I can't be bothered to look it up.

Yes, it is.

I might've missed it, but I don't see anything about multiple accounts in either the GOG user agreement or FAQ: website and accounts.

When I logged into my main account, the banner was not activated. So I clicked and when I went to look on the shelf, the game wasn't there. However on the game's store page, it was like I had the game.

I tried to refresh, enter private and was unsuccessful. I contacted support and now I'm waiting for a response. If what I've done so far is wrong, let GOG at least remove the fact that I have the game, because the way it is, I can't even buy the game.

I would understand if I was a person with tens or thousands of accounts, but I only have two and one isn't even used.

I'm looking at your list of games and Deep Sky Derelicts is there. Does it really not turn up if you enter deep in the search box on the library page? Did you double-check the hidden games as well? What about your orders history?

You do use it. You just admitted to logging into it and claiming a freebie. You use it for "testing", remember?!?

Yeah, some people keep spreading that claim, although I don't think it's against policies in almost any store to have one account per one purchased/claimed game if someone wants to have it like that.
Obviously there are systems in place to make that very difficult, such as binding only one account to one email address and so on.

The only thing in GOG legal stuff that might prevent that is this:
"(h) Don’t share, ‘buy’, ‘sell’, transfer, gift, lend, steal, misappropriate or misuse GOG accounts. GOG keys/codes can only be gifted or transferred or used in the ways permitted by GOG. If you have any questions or problems, contact customer support."

Because they don't specify of give any examples, it's up to interpretation whether having more than one account is "misuse" or whether claiming freebies twice with different accounts is against "the ways permitted by GOG".

In any case, the party that is most hurt by having multiple accounts is most likely the individual user, as evidenced by this thread.

Anyway, regarding the problem, try using to different browsers, one for each account separately.
That way they don't share any cache or anything like that. Most likely that should fix the problem.
Of course, if you can download the game using one account, then you have access to the game all the same, so I don't see how it is that important to have it tied to a specific account?
Have you looked into "Orders" and your email?

I really shouldn't add my 2 cents since it's not going to help you resolve anything here.

But. I do suggest you read the GOG's user agreement as someone pointed out, just in case some activities are considered bannable. Making a post about it before reading that, might just making it easier IF it does violate the terms, in the event GOG needs to take action.

It's best not to exploit using 2 accounts since any gains you might get from the tests, may not be worth the risk to your main account.

Also, as someone mentioned earlier, are you sure you don't already have the game in your Library from a past purchase?
