Just wanted to ask what this friend-stuff is good for :/ I have exactly two friends on Steam (two GOGlodytes - one of them send me a friend request and the other one is a friend because I wanted to give him a beta game from my inventory), but I know that you need to friend people for certain community features. But what are friends good for on Galaxy?

You'll probably see what game they're playing, and chat with them so as to disturb and annoy them while they're in a hectic match of Unreal Tournament and barely have time to see the notification of a new message, much less read or reply. So that people won't send requests and you'll have to decline them?

Also, I'm not specifically looking for friend requests, but I will accept people I recognise and don't mind. If I don't recognise you, I've yet to talk to you, and as such I am not yet your friend, so you don't belong to my fiends list. Talk to me first and I'll make a judgement of your friend material later.

yeah, but it will probably not have the same impact as bothering them while they're playing dota. I love doing that about as much as they love inviting me when they know I hate the game.

Dota isn't on GOG yet though, and thus not on my list of examples to bring up. Unreal Tournament was the first quick-reaction game I thought of.

GOG should really place an "Add friends" thread right up at the top as a sticky. It'd be a whole lot helpful. :)

That is pretty neat, where did you get the link from? I wonder why GOG haven't placed this link in the Account section yet. It should have been implemented with the invite friends option on the website as well to avoid all the people getting annoyed by the unknown notifications.
