What are your thoughts on the release and failure of Unknown 9? It's been a trophy farming session for me unintentionally over at the other place, having amassed 6,000 points in 2 days. Totally not my intention, but it's an unmonitored discussion because it would keep the mods too busy. Can we have some input without calling others names or being smart and smug? Probably not...but......

I think it is (was?) very aptly named, because I know nothing about it.

Yup..that's Mikey the Coonhound. He's 10 years old. lol Yup, Breja...the game was unknown to me as well until it dropped yesterday. What a disaster! It's a multimillion dollar flop from Bandai...and well, sucrose child incorporated.

I want a dog too, you pushed me gently toward this decision. I would need to explain to my 11-year-old cat that some dogs are cute. As for the game again the gameplay promises a lot. We got GoW here, it's just a matter of time.
I only ever heard about the game from it's connection to the terrible narrative development company that shall not be named. So it wasn't something that was ever really going to be for me.

From a completely dispassionate look, the game is kind of mid. Certainly not terrible like some other big high profile flops this year. But it looks like it cost a ton of money to make so it'll end up being a flop just by the metrics. As action/adventure games go it would probably be worth pick up when it's on deep enough sale. Just not enough to go for it now unless something just really grabs you about it.

And then you thought:
"Hm, maybe I should shell out $50 to $60 on this new game, that just dropped and of which I have never heard before, I bet that's a great idea!"

Well...

my opinion is: that I do not trust your source.

/Interesting world building, premise, story and characters. But seems to be lacking a bit as a game, very linear and not that much to actually do. Maybe would have worked better as a book or a film.
Looks good, with high production values for the most part and made with a large budget. It really seems like they made a big bet on this game.
But, from what I understood, the gameplay itself lets it down somewhat (which really should have been their number one focus). And it was rushed to at some point (but that tens to be the norm, as I understand it).

Maybe the publisher wanted a game that was not too challenging or unique in order to reach a larger market and recuperate their investment?
