The emails you guys have started sending right after a game purchase telling us about "more titles I would like" should be moved out of the Promotions and Hot Deals notifications. The category is listed as "Exclusive Discounts and Important Announcements" and this doesn't fit the content of the email, and the emails are irritating; I just spent money ten seconds ago, and you're already spamming for another?

If you or anyone you know which you allow to use your account have accidentally, maliciously, or purposefully claimed a free game, let it be reminded that GOG will and does sign you up for all promotions again, and signs you to agree to have your data shared with "trusted third parties".

Anyways, the problem is that you engaged with the system. I haven't bought a game from GOG in checks notes eeeh, 2022, and GOG's staff, if they've been keeping notes, know exactly what it'll take to get me to start buying again.

Well, you know what they say: you got to strike the iron, while it's hot. ;)

I have engaged and I'm trying to leave those promotional engagements in place. I have bought 700 games through GOG over many years. This is a recent change and it's obnoxious and unnecessary.

But the iron isn't hot. The purchased game hasn't been played yet to know if the genre is liked, so why would we drop more money? Do people buy every game in the genre and then play them to see which ones are worth it? Unlikely.

It just feels like working with a used car salesman; I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to buy your stuff, stop making it worse.
Upselling is a standard practice, but I agree that it is way too soon to do that right after the customer buys a game.

They should probably send that message after a few weeks.

Funny that you mention car salesmen:
I once bought a brand new car - and the next week, I received a letter from the car dealer, where I had bought that car, asking whether I would be interested in their new model...and that was after I spent waaaayy more than I (or you) will ever spend on games.

I guess, that's just one of these pesky facts of life.
Once you gave them money - they want more of it.

This is where the idiocy is. If they don't stop this mailer, I'll remove myself from their Promotions and Hot Deals communication, and I'll be less likely to spend money because I don't buy a game that isn't on sale, and if I'm not being made aware of the sale, no more money.
Upselling is annoying but come on gog, wait a few days before doing the upselling.
fucking hell its getting harder and harder to support this site.
It's pretty annoying, and seemingly happens within 2 minutes of your purchase. Not making me want to continue to support GOG.
