Related to the topic, another reason I'm glad I don't use steam: They're abandoning users, forcing them to buy new computers and OSes.

As if cutting off people from accessing what they've paid for wasn't enough reason.

And it has been like that since 1 january of 2024. The client still runs fine on my end using Windows 8.1 and offline mode though.

And it's not like games on GOG don't get updates that break backwards compability. If you backup, your safe, if not, goodbye old version...

Edit: It's funny to see a warning stating that the Client will stop working in zero days.
