Images of a happy robot flash in my mind, it's ready to purchase games on GOG, only to be stopped dead in its tracks because it can't click the box, for reasons it can't explain. It stares at the screen blankly. Unsure of what to do next...

Life is hell.

cogadh: Conceptually, almost anything is possible, but in reality, that is not necessarily the case. Conceptually, I could build myself a spaceship, launch it from my back yard and fly to Mars, but in reality that is only a bit more ridiculous than what you are asking for from GOG. At least a personal mission to Mars might serve some kind of tangible and rewarding purpose, unlike this effort.

Where do you have this knowledge from that it would be very hard for GOG to (for example) have the "Redeem" button on the front page directly redeem the game to the library. BTW: The part of the front page with the "Redeem" buttons is not a dumb store front which does not know where the codes come from - it actually knows exactly where they come from.
Alternately the system would only have to support a "redeem code X to user Y" command scheme. With the help of encryption this could not be abused seriously. For a competent programmer it would be simple to program it. Example use: When creating front page it tags the button for "Redeem" with the command "redeem code X to user Y" with X being the code for the "free" game and Y being the user who bought in the autumn sale. The command is encrypted with a key from GOG so that only GOG can create/encrypt and decrypt such commands. A competent programmer could make the server parts of that in a few hours. The webpage shouldnt be difficult either (and there is no security risk because server and concept take care of that).

GOG Forum killed my post?

It shows "What is with the GOG captcha? 2 min. ago" but no post here?
I know this is probably a weird question, but how do i even do the captcha? whenever I try to redeem a code on here, it doesn't let me click continue because i haven't done the captcha yet. and there doesn't seem to be one that pops up on the screen. Thanks.

Thanks for the help. the checkbox showed up now, so there was something that wasnt showing up
A captcha for sign in? That's very annoying... Not sure I will log in often with this.
low rated
Not as annoying as someone necroing a 5 month dead thread, but I guess if you don't log in again it's a one time problem we can learn to live with.
Captcha is a security verification.. To verify if you are a bot or not, just follow follow the steps It does not do anything wrong..

Some folks are reporting possible hacking of their accounts.

If you're seeing it, you may be doing so for a reason.

I hate robots, at least ever since my last one broke down. To get a replacement I had to go all the way out into The Wasteland with this crazy red headed chick, all while being chased by a bunch of psychos wearing Hawaiian shirts.

It was a mess!

And after that you had a fallout with robotkind, I see. . . . . .

Did you miss that reference? :P
So, how come anyone else complained about this in almost a year? Am I missing something? Is it a browser thing?

I just tried to redeem a code for 10 minutes straight with no luck. When I finally. after several trying and waiting for the pictures to reload, could go through the long long process of the captcha, the timeout had already happened. And that cycle went on again and again.

And I couln't write to support about it, because... you also need to go through the captcha.

I don't know what's the captcha they're using designed for, but humans is surely not.
