Too unreliable...any eagle, falcon and buzzard can cut the connection. ;)

I look forward to some nice handwritten letters from GOG!

vsr: GOG will launch it's own mail server.
Problem solved.
If it’s developed by the same team than the current forum, I *have* to see this!

andreasaspenberg2: several of the mail services i had addresses on got shut down.
Email providers are a dime a dozen, to the point where sites exist solely to create throwaway accounts on them. If one goes down, there's three more waiting to take its place.
It takes about five minutes to set up a mailserver.
Yahoo email going away would be an improvement for email in general, which you may recognize as being kind of the opposite of doom. (Or did you already forget the massive data breach they had from a few years ago.) The typical response to saying "Yahoo" to a random person is either "What?" or "Are they still around?"
I haven't gotten my daily spam from a Yahoo mail account today.

It must be the apocalypse!
Step 1: Yahoo Mail goes down
Step 2: Realize you need email for GOG
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit

This is silly. Use Gmail or something.
Hello all,

Ah, how I missed coming in the forums everyday, since Galaxy 2.0 isn't exactly Forum friendly, I see could miss a very lot.

So, other End-of-the-internet news to share ?

If we ever make contact with intelligent life forms on the internet, that will be the end of it all.

Not internet, but Trump Steaks(TM) have been discontinued. This spells doom for beef in general.
I use Yahoo mail because I'm too lazy to change everything. It works fine as of now. Thank you for listening.

andreasaspenberg2: yahoo mail is no more. this spells doom for email in general. what is gog going to do about it?
Yes, just like when one courier service got shut down and every post office in the world suddenly disappeared.
As silly as the original post is with its doomsday prophecies caused by a temporary inaccessibility, it does remind you that you can easily lose all the games you haven't backed up if you happen to lose your e-mail account. If a provider like Yahoo would actually vanish overnight, it wouldn't spell doom for e-mail in general, but cause a lot of trouble for the people who used Yahoo mail addresses for all their forum and store accounts.
