But serious answer: he is the forum's pet troll. Out of all the trolls we have he is the only one who is actually funny. Some users like him for being funny. Others, especially the non-funny trolls, hate him.

He had an odd style of posting in threads (mostly with light-hearted semi-off-topic one liner jokes), which amused some forumers, left other forumers indifferent, and infuriated yet other forumers. The latter went hysterical, claiming that he was ruining the forums, that everything was becoming unbearable, that they would leave if he wouldn't leave, and went on hounding him for a long while. So, he became "a thing".

Nowadays, the same thing happens with Fairfox' odd inputs (in her case : interesting threads but cryptic gimmicky writing), and the cycle is renewed. TinyE is nowadays largely accepted with his own style, and Fairfox gets insta-mass-downrepped and barked at by people who think she is destroying gog's forums. Déjà vu.

I suppose it happened before, and it'll happen afterwards, with other people. But it ends up making some forumers "stand out", for unpredictable reasons, less related to themselves than to the forum's community itself (I've been in forums where neither random smartassery à la TinyE nor gimmicky writing style à la Fairfox were a big deal). Human groups work in strange ways, and, now and then, one individual's presence chemically reveals the content of these groups.

Speaking as someone who loves to socialise with both, their conflict has torn me apart. As a long time watcher of posts that slide into the red, I must say that it isn't true that Fairfox' posts get insta-mass-downrepped just nowadays. It has been that way for a long time, sadly.

Yet another reason for this "(anti-)social forum feature" to finally die. :|
