Hello,

I have a particular issue with running this game (X-Com Enemy Within) with my ultrawide monitor. It appears to display as it should, but when I move the mouse, it is as if it is playing on a screen that is 16:9, so when it is 3/4 of the way to right, the game thinks I am on the right edge of my screen.

This has caused me to have to run the game in windowed mode at a 16:9 ratio to be able to play it, which is quite frustrating.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, have you found any fixes?

Sincerely,
Kiyo

It seems like it is indeed a problem for ultrawide monitor.

This is a site specializing in wide screen gaming problems and solutions
Ultra/Super-Wide (21:9/32:9) Specific Solution & Issues

An ini edit is required:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Unknown\XComGame\Config\XComCamera.ini

[Engine.Camera]
DefaultAspectRatio=1.778
bConstrainAspectRatio=True
ConstrainedAspectRatio=2.37037

Default FOV is mostly Hor+, sometimes Vert- in Strategic mode (HQ).
It is not recommended to alter the FOV of Tactical mode (missions): the resulting slightly misaligned UI would hurt the gameplay quite a bit.

The mouse position is off the further it gets from the center of the screen. This results in being forced to position the mouse in strange areas trying to get the game to see you want to click on the square 4 spaces away.

Is there any additional guidance? Has anyone else tried this? I modified the INI file per this description but it didn't work.
