Hello everyone! As the title suggests, I would be grateful if you could share your opinions on GoNNER. I am tempted to buy it during the current sale, as its discounted price is rather appealing, but I want to avoid flooding my library with games I will quit early (or eventually never play). So, how is it? Tough as hell? Rewarding / unfair deaths? Replay value? Makes you want more even after 1000 subsequent failures? :) To give you some context, I have played LOTS of Binding of Isaac (unfortunately not on GOG) and I thought it was a grower, starting really hard and getting more enjoyable (& addictive) as you unlock stuff. This game to me is actually the meaning of replay value. On the other hand, I played Nuclear Throne for 2-3 days and never touched it again, as I thought it was super difficult without reason, with lots of unfair deaths (I hardly managed to get past level 2, maybe I lack the skill, who knows). Please note, the above stuff is my personal opinion through experience & I do not intend to criticize. So, how does GoNNER compare to the above?
THAT THING LOOKS IMPOSSIBLE! XD

I don't know. I'm just going by the screenshots.

Maybe I'm wrong.
Don't know GoNNER, can't be of use to you, but if you like learning curves, fair rules but many deaths, and a lot of options, you should check out Tales of Maj'Eyal, if you don't already know about it. You could probably sink 1000 hours into that game and still not have gotten through all the major playstyle combinations.

Granted, it's not on sale here right now, but it's cheap as it is, and will probably be on sale again sometime.
I tried it out after buying. Got to level 2. It was very difficult. But to be honest, I didn´t try to beat it, so I don´t know if it gets easier when you get a grip on it.
I have it and I have completed it: it's very difficult. Until you acquire new weapons and masks the game punish you in every way and very hard, but when you finally find the configuration of powers and weapons that suit you the best, the game become more simple... until the last level, this remain a real hell. Ultimately I recommend it only to those who really want to put themselves to the test, but once you learn the techniques to survive it becomes very pleasant, the music and the graphic style do the rest.

Note that it's missing the daily challenges that apparently the Steam version has, and unfortunately has no achievements, which would be a nice addition to commemorate the sweat and blood spent to complete it. XD

Hey thanks for the recommendation, I am not so much into turn-based games but thanks anyway!

Haha, my luck with the game is most likely to be the same!

Thanks a lot for the details! I think I should prioritize other games first and I might give this one a chance later when I feel like ... hurting! :)
