It's obvious that this is better than Doom's shotgun:

SimonG: I actually liked the double barrel shotgun more ...
Oh lawd, having a powerful sound system, turn up the bass and volume.
BOOM, CLACK, CLACK. The entire fucking room is shaking. It is glorious.

Haha. That was definitely better.
I LOVED weapon sounds from STALKER games. They were... They were fucking loud - I played with headphones on proper volume (dialogue and environment was just about as loud as in other games, I always play so I can hear background details,) and every time I fired a gun, it felt as if something exploded into my ear. ... Which is exactly how a gun should sound like.

Talking of loud guns - I hate the MP from Half-Life 2. That weapon is ridiculously loud, it always forces me to turn down the volume. I mean I'd be okay with all guns being loud in the game but really, it's just this one. I wanna punch the audio designer in the face for that.

Could you post a screenshot of your volume settings? I have it set to what I think is a good level for backgrounds and dialogue, but the guns still sound about normal to me.

STALKER's long gone from my drive now. What I did have is music completely turned off, and ... Well, to be fair, I played the game with Oblivion Lost mod, 'cause I liked it that way far more. Might have something to do with that.

Possibly. I'm playing with Complete.

Which is why people who regularly fire real guns take care to protect their ears. Don't go deaf now!
I'm partial to the minigun from Unreal Tournament 2004.
The blue shell in Mario Kart... When you fired it and it's headed towards your friend.

StingingVelvet: Go ahead, try and think of one. It doesn't exist.
