...that GOG.com has become a way of life for you, instead of just another website you follow for game-related news? I recently noticed that not a day goes by when I don't check the front page for some exciting news or promos or scour the forums for some interesting topics. All these old games and the nostalgia surrounding them, combined with a loving community that never tires of talking about and playing these games reminds me of simpler times when I was just a young lad, with addition to scraping my knees climbing trees I also developed a healthy addiction for all kinds of games with my friends. Every day we'd go to whoever had the newest Full Versions of our favorite shareware games and game until we'd be hungry and tired from staring at those monitors for too many hours on end.

What I'm trying to ask is, do you ever feel like this when you visit GOG? Do you ever get back at least some of that awesome nostalgia when you play these games? That and being able to rave about these games in the forums with your friends just makes it that much more amazing!

Just my two cents. I'm off to play Raptor for another 2 hours!
I haven't even been a member long and I'm starting to feel that way. It's the first site or two I check when I first get on the computer. I like to support their appreciation for the customer and the things they do to show that. I was unfamiliar with most of the games, but looking around at reviews, gameplay videos on youtube, I started buying more and more.

I haven't even played most of the games before buying them so I don't have the nostalgia like others here but I know I'll enjoy the games just as much. It's a unique site and business model and I don't know of any other like it. I'm not sure if it's fair to compare the two, but I'm liking this service more than Steam, even though I love Steam sales when the deals are right.

People tend to want to belong somewhere. Birds of a feather and all that. It's no surprise that you found refuge and shelter in a place, even on the net, where you feel like at home. So yeah, GOG has become a sort of community hall for me too, and I wholeheartedly support what the guys behind the scenes are doing for the good games of old.
I check GOG everyday, on work, at home and even at friends and I also tell them about GOG to spread the word. GOG releases great games with a lot of extra's it has a friendly community and great give-aways. So you GOG is becoming my number 1 gaming community because we are talking on the forums about all games not just the old games.

So people support GOG and spread the word! And GOG please release shadow warrior and NFS serie!

... where everybody knows your name...
Ever since I joined GOG it has been my home page. I can't open my browser without checking the site. Thankfully I never miss a new release or promotion because of it. I really like this forum too. I've never been part of an online community that I was so involved in. I like that there are lots of people here who are a lot like me.
It's my main forum right now, I like it's mission statement a lot and the community, but I can't say I feel THAT strongly about it, no.
I enjoy coming here but it's not the site that makes users come back, it's the people posting here.

GoG has a great community.

A very diverse one, too. So many people from so many countries. It's wonderful.

Indeed, especially when what social network I have offline is pretty distant (mentally, that is).

Wether that's a chosen nickname or a name given by your parents isn't important. The name (and face/avatar) represents you either way.

It's part of a theme song from a show called Cheers.
