Hi all. Sorry to bother you guys, but I have a little problem.

So, I recently acquired Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut from here, and I am trying to install it to play. Here's the problem: every time a download finishes, it gives me this message: The setup files are corrupted. Please download a new copy of the program.

Maybe this is due to the fact that it is a 5-part download, but it does this to every one of the files. If any of you have some suggestions, that would be much appreciated!

Did you try downloading the files just through a browser, rather than the GOG Downloader? Maybe try lowering the number of connections that the downloader uses.

The GOG Community Wiki lists the md5 checksum values for most games, so you can use a program like to calculate the values for the downloaded files and compare them to what is listed on the [url=http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed:_Director's_Cut]Assassin's Creed page. That would be more help identifying a specific corrupt download, though, than confirming all the files are corrupt.

Are you shutting down any non-essential programs (like anti-virus scanners) that could be monitoring or interfering with the download?

Are you getting errors in any other large downloads, file transfers or memory intensive programs (burning DVDs, etc)? Did you try downloading other GOG games?

Well, Raze, I am downloading them through the browser. That might pose the problem. :(
And my virus program is always active. And no, no other problems with other downloads.

I thought you were using the downloader since you were getting an error that the setup files were corrupt. I guess your browser must be assuming they are setup files due to the extension. If you are saving the files, though (not running them), the browser shouldn't care what file type they are.

If you don't want to use the downloader, you could try a different browser.
