a fallout mmo you say?I may have to try this out some time in 2012 when i have nothing better to do.If there is a mmo that is.

Which would be easier to tackle, a shitty MMO or zombi-pocalypse? I say zombies because they are dumb! Load your silenced .22LR pistols (preferred weapons according to Max Brooks and his Zombie Survival Guide) and go down a swinging!
Oh and watch out for reports of tons of human bite attacks in your area, that's a sign to get ready now or never. Yes, zombies are much easier than sacrificing HDD space for a shitty game that hurts your eyes and can never be forgotten.
I would say a undead attack would be much harder then a zombie attack.
With a undead horde you face far more then the likes of zombies.
At night the vampires will feed on your blood.The ghouls will eat your bones! the zombies can have your brains.Wraiths will feed on your fear! The skeletons will do something.
Now add the brains of a necromancer who may or may not be a lich/vampire.
That would be something to fear.
it can be very easy to forget about a bad mmo. If you can get in and out of hades.Then its easy as 1 2 3 aka drink some water from the pool lethe.
The fallout mmo: i won't be geting my hopes up of seeing a good mmo or a mmo of fallout.
Soon or later the mmo will turn in to , kill enemy a for item b to turn in to npc c so he will sell you item d.
You can't fast travel from point a to b with out having Reputation level friend with group c.
For the love of god how many times can you reuse the kill boar quest.
mmo can be fun. O yes they can be good fun or a great way to pass time.From what i played of mmos. If the mmo is a good mmo, someone will end up ruining it.
I remember in lord of the rings online. Could get some of the best gear in the game by crafting it.sure there was better gear you could get in dungeons/raids.
That was a bit better then craft gear. Then There was the expansion pack mines of moria.Best gear was then hope gear. Hope was something that would counter dread.Dread would lower your hp,attack,take more damage,and stun you if dread was 5 or more.Dread was a real killer.
Hope works like dread only your hp,damage go up and the damage you take goes down.
Now back to the point.
The new hope gear was so much better then craft gear in stats. Yeah no one would Wear the craft gear if they could get there hands on the hope gear or one of the lesser sets.
90% of the time where better much better then craft gear.
Making it the best armor set in the game for any class.How to get the gear.
Raid the same dungeon over and over again.

For the love of god i played this game to kill stuff not round away from the boss like a undead fleeing a paladin,thanks to his super high damage and attack speed.lets not forget about his lower armour power.
The killer adds. Archers them good for nothing archers. That would spawn behide you.
which would kill your healer or dps fast if they hit them.
Can't kill that guy who summons the archers or no hope gear for you
Whichs leads to a lots of wipes then at last you kill the boss or b the group breaks up after to many wipes.IF your did beat the boss on hard mode.You loot the chest and one of you gets the coin to trade in for hope gear.
Can take a long time to get just one item of the hope set.IF you have to join pickup groups.

Like 90% of the guild is to low of a level.Your high level friends are all offline most of the time.
With the right group a few of the dungeons turned from shoot your brains out hard to fun.
Like that boss that had 3 modes. heavy armor, leather armor,light armor.
He had 2 adds. one archer and one melee elite. They would respawn if killed.
The boss had 2 attacks you had to watch out for.A root [or was that the archer] then would use a high damage attack right after that.
in heavy armor mode you have to lure him to the traps set by the archer.Then you could damage him.

For leather armor mode. The melee mob you had to make sure when he dies it was near the boss. When he dies near the boss a oil debuff is place on the boss.
[sometimes both the tank and boss]Then lure the boss to a trap set by the archer mob.
Once done attack the boss.

[note. IF you have oil on you the archer may target you with a fire arrow attack that will send you from full hp to i need a heal fast.
thats not all. You get a damage over time added on you.] A potion could remove the damage over time. Can't remember the name of it .Been while since i last played.]
once last note. The melee mob will say something like burn your bones.Said mob would then use a aoe fire attack. Its easy to say clear of .

For light armor mode. The boss moves and attacks much faster .The boss will now use his root and high damage attack far more offen.The good new is you don't need to lure him to a trap any more. Just kill the boss.Once dead kill off the adds and loot the chest.

Fun fight that was.
i think i need some of that water two. Lets both travel to hades and get some.Then we can forget all about them bad mmos.

Thats interesting - how so? I am not overly experienced with MMOs - 1day playing LOTRO, about 6 weeks playing Conan-the-trainwreak and of my much-briefer-than-your tenure at Fallen Earth. (and that was beta).

Well for starters everything in the game is player-craftable. I've heard that this makes the game fun later on, but in the beginning it's pretty annoying when you have to kill things to complete a quest but you're out of ammo and need to find the materials and pattern to create said ammo you need. The other option being paying for overpriced items on the Auction-house.
As a result, you spend a lot of time running around the wasteland avoiding combat trying to find nodes to scavenge raw materials from (think mining or herbalism in WoW).
Perhaps most frustrating is the combat system though. It plays like a FPS on the screen but more like an RPG behind the scenes. This creates issues killing things, which is a requirement for most quests.
Finally, the world feels really empty (as it should I suppose) making it possible to play for hours without encountering a single player.
One other thing, in the tutorial you play as a level40 and get to use all these cool weapons but then - oh! - you're back to level one soon realizing to return to level 40 you're in for quite the grind.
I'd probably play this game if it had no monthly fee, but currently, at it's 13.99/month price it's just not worth it imo. Hopefully they fix some of the issues in future patches (by all accounts the devs are great and listen to the community etc.)

Thanks for the info - Yes, cost is one of the problems with most MMOs - will I play enough to make it worth the cost.? Hmmm thats one of the reason I just stopped (during the tutorial as it turns out).
That sucks that you get rolled back to 1 after the tutorial.
Finally, what gives me hope is that the devs seem to be listening to the playerbase, so fallen earth might be able to grow slowly. The attitude of the Trainwreck of Conan was - we got your money ... too bad that we intentionally broke stuff; its what was intended all along. Of course now they want us back...but its left me permanently suspicous about all MMOs.
