neonhal: The installer should be updated so I would install the latest version.
For the most part, they usually are updated to the latest version of the game. Patches or Universal Updates, as we call them :D, are offered for those who already have a previous version of the game downloaded and just need an update.

Smaller games, such as Retro City Rampage, have their entire installers changed whenever a new version is live.

Also, whenever an update comes out I do my best to inform folks in the particular game's subforum of what has been added/changed, which includes information about installers :D

Ok, thanks. I've read a tweet about it was supposed to be online on passed Tuesday, but it seems they haven't worked that out yet.

Why "for the most part"? Why not all? Why "usually"?

Ok, lets use an example. Primordia came out. I enjoyed it and finished it. The patch came out. I no longer care, but people who will buy it today should download an updated installer for them to enjoy it without a hassle of installing anything else. Why do I care? Because I like GOG so much I want it to be flawless.

FTL's installer will be updated eventually :D

As for the other part of your question, may I get back to you on that? I'd like to ask our technical guys about this one and I don't remember off-hand atm :D
