There are some recent releases i wanted to buy on Gog, but steam has trained me to wait for most of the daily deals before buying, but Im wondering how low can things go? Like Steam can go up to 90%, and considering how cheap some things are already, Im wondering if Gog will go any lower?

For the record Im not being cheap but it is the holiday season and I have a big family, thus I have to budget for them and my gaming needs.
I don't think I've ever seen a higher discount than 75% on GOG.
The biggest I've seen is 75% in daily deals. It seems the publishers with several games on here are more likely to have packs where you have to get them all for 75% compared to indies and individual games that hit it themselves.
The highest I've seen were 100%.
The highest discount I've seen on GOG is 100%. You're crazy lucky if you get your wishlist games like that, though.

Unless you count the "pay what you want promo".
Waiting for the last day of the sale for things not already 75% discounted does make sense (or at least it would if I knew when that was). But I highly doubt that you'll see a larger discount than that on anything and most won't go beyond their current discount.

Generally, anything with less than a 50% discount is going to stay where it is. If the publisher is uncomfortable with 50% then they're not going to like anything more than that, are they?

Telltale games, 80% discount. It happened once.
There was the 80% Telltale sale but that was a special for Telltales 8th birthday.
How is percentage interesting? The actual price says more. :P

For the record, Dungeon Keeper was down at $1.49 during the recent daily and I don't think I've seen a game cheaper than that here if we exclude free games.

I don't. It wasn't really "pay what you want" anyway, it was something quite different. I'm not saying it wasn't a good deal, but I do wish they'd called it something else.

I think the interplay bundle had the ability to pay what you want.

EDIT: I see what you mean. It was pay what you want for the 1st tier, then after that it was a set price or BTA, just like the divinity series "pay what you want".

If I'm not mistaken, all games that have been discounted individually by 75% for a day were titles that were released quite recently and that regularly cost more than $9.99 (with the sole exception of FTL which regularly costs $9.99 but only got a 25% discount during the default holiday sale).*

So I think we can expect that most or all games that didn't get a discount at all, or a discount lower than 50%, might get discounted by 50% or 75% for one single day.

All other games (curently at $2.99 and $4.99) probably won't get further discounts unless you buy them in a package with other games from the same publisher or a shared theme.

So if you only want a few different and select games, it should be safe to buy them now at 50% off, unless they still cost more than $4.99 or unless you're ready to spend more on packages to get a better discount on individual games in them (at the risk of buying more than you originally wanted to, even games you're not interested in).

Anyway, just my thoughts, no guarantee. ;)

*EDIT: Hm, I just realized, Trine is another $9.99 game that was individually discounted by 75%. If the regular discount during the holiday sale was 50% already, then my theory is proven wrong.

We also had a "Pick 5 pay 10" deal where you could easily beat 80% depending on which games you'd choose

I was just about to bring this up as well. Of course GOG sometimes offers free games, so that's better than 75%, but the 5 for 10 sale recently offered some titles that were originally $15 I think, so that is well above 75% off.
