From what I know, the foreign language edition of Mass Effect 1 was published by CD Projekt Red.

Because of that, I have to ask. Do we have any hope of being able to see Mass Effect 1 on GOG?

All of the Mass Effect games on the PC were published by EA

EA is already on board

So maybe sometime in the future, one only can hope

Actually, first Mass Effect wasn't originally published by EA, but EA now is the only owner of the franchise.

btw. I think the chances are pretty low. Games sold on Origin rather won't make it to GOG anytime soon.

Yes it was, the PC version of the first game was published by EA

The 360 version was published by Microsoft

Now I'm trying to picture which would have been the worse DRM for Mass Effect. GFWL or Origin.....

Origin is pretty cool.

First of all, Mass Effect 1 was distributed by CDProjekt and they made the Polish localisation. Now, CDP has no rights to any of that, and Mass Effect 1 (I think without Polish language) is being sold on Origin only

So CDP has now nothing to do with Mass Effect franchise. Nothing at all.

And I stongly doubt EA would want to sell ME1 Drm free while it's avaible only via Origin.
