xyem: WM?

The 4 monitors only cost me £60.. I have another twelve of them. All in all, this project cost me about.. £80-90.

kodeen: Oh, thought you'd know that one, sorry. Window Manager. Fluxbox, etc...

I'm just kidding, of course. I love the light blockers off to the side.
I know that one, but how would a WM give me more screen estate? I already use i3.
Also, i had to upvote your post because I accidently downvoted it. This phone only shows tbe icons after you click the post header.. but they still function!

Red_Baron: What so your planning on having 2 more boxes with 4 monitors in? What do you need so many for?
No, the other 12 will be used for a video wall, driven by a cluster (of Raspberry Pis hopefully)

FraterPerdurabo: Nice one!
I'm currently running two monitors and to be honest - that's fine for me. I am only able to really focus on one at a time so the other one usually contains static information.

My brother is running three screens though and he's thinking about upgrading to four.

What do you need them for anyway? Work?
I work on a lot of stuff at the same time. The only time all 5 will be doing the same task would be 3D modelling. 3 on top, side and front view, one with controls and the landscape one in the normal 'spin around it' view

I wish my job was excitng enough to require more than 1 monitor :P
