Hello. I may be seen as a noob, but in fact, I'm a noob.

I have just entered to this community and I can't understand how to pay a download. Specifically, the card number is the series in front of the card? as an example: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx.

And, how many digits have the security code? I have two numbers in the rear side of the card, one with four digits (which is the same four last digts of the "card number"), and another number of three digits.

It may be obvious that I haven't made an online buy ever.

Maybe I should have said this before, I'm not using a credit card but a debit card. Can I use it?

You've pretty much got it right. The card number is the 16-digit number on the front of the card (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). The last 4 of that number are usually used as a confirmation of the right card, which is why it's also printed on the back. The other, 3-digit number is the security code (XXX).

To my knowledge, many debit cards can be run as credit. I think it should probably work? My own debit card does, at least.

Three.

Perhaps, does it have the Mastercard or Visa (or American Express/AmEx) logo? If yes, it should work - though it is possible that the card cannot be used for international purchases. The only way to know really, is to try.

If it does NOT have the logo of said companies, or it's a "lite" version of them (Maestro from Mastercard, for example), it's likely to not work.

Hello. Welcome to GOG.com.

You're entering the card number fine. The security code is the three digit group on the back of your card.

Debit cards are accepted by GOG, that's how I pay.

This is the security code.

If you want to use a debit card, I would recommend purchasing through Paypal. Paypal is secure and will allow even plain debit (ones w/o credit card endorcement) to work, as long as you link it to your account and it's verified.

Paypal is considered secure and is used by almost all reputable online vendors. They also secure your purchase and whatnot. :) I hope this helps!
