Komerade! Is time to strap self into Mi-24 “Flying Tank” helicopter and take to skies!

The Hind MI-24, the most heavily gunned, massively armored, and fiercest flying battle platform of the Eastern Bloc, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

“Hind” is a codename used by the NATO forces who first encountered this flying behemoth. The copter’s official name is Mi-24, while the Soviet troops nicknamed it the “Flying Tank”. The reason for that is quite self-explanatory: the Mi-24 is heavily-armored, rock-solid, and extremely well equipped with heavy weaponry. This is reflected in Digital Integration’s previous game, where your Apache Longbow could fly circles around the less agile Soviet equipment. The game mechanics, perfected from Digital Integration’s previous sim Apache Longbow, also reflect the changes to the gameplay between the slower gunship and infantry platform Hind and the agile and fast Apache.

You will pilot the Soviet super-copter in three campaigns: in Kazakhstan, against some anti-communist rebels; in Afghanistan, fighting mujaheddin soldiers; and in Korea, against American equipment. A total of 30 scenarios along with a few training missions will provide you hours of chopper-flying fun, and multiplayer for up to 8 people (find a friend with a copy of iEntertainment’s Apache Longbow and play Apache vs. Hind multiplayer!) adds to the fun. The game offers varying levels of difficulty, ranging from simply-shoot arcade mode to advanced realistic physics and full-on mission planning for advanced pilots.

Destroy your enemies Red Army-style when you drop 1500 kg of missiles on a target in Hind, available now on GOG.com for only $5.99.
A Hind-D?

Colonel, what's a Russian gunship doing here?

Funnily enough that's probably the first time most gamers saw the thing featured. I played the DI\Janes\EA titles back when they were new in the 90s of course :p
It would be nice if GOG could start doing more "2-in-one-day" releases, like a popular game and a more "meh" game, maybe. Maybe on Tuesday 1 game, then on Thursday 2 games.

D.I.D. sims? You mean like Damsel In Distress or something? Sorry I'm a little lost on the whole thing.
Digital Image Design, the people behind relatively known titles such as EF2000 and F-22 ADF. The 1990s were a golden age for flying games and simulators on PC.

And don't forget Wargasm! Aside from being the game with the best title ever it's also the only game I ever played where wipers clean the screen after running infantry over with a tank + the blood will move horizontally when driving fast.

GOG really has to add this one to its collection.
Loved "Inferno" as well - that was a bit different by D.I.D. back in the day
