It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi!

Since there are no postings regarding this issue, I might be the only one who is recently having problems with it. The main site and the forums work flawlessly but when I click a game to go into the details, a black/yellow exclamation mark is showed in the left corner if my IE 8. The error details read like that:

-------------------------------------------------
Benutzer-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C; InfoPath.2)
Zeitstempel: Sat, 9 Apr 2011 19:28:47 UTC

Meldung: 'tagName' is null or not an object
Zeile: 73
Zeichen: 4
Code: 0
URI: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/realms_of_the_haunting
---------------------------------------------------

The effect is, that I can not open any of the thumbnail pictures. I get the finger cursor, but when I click nothing happens.

I already tried the obvious like deleting the temporary files, IE cache, resetting IE, disabling my Kaspersky antivirus. But nothing helps. Anyone with an idea? BTW - there seems to be no problem with any other site. I can enlarge thumbnails at Steam or GamersGate.

Thanx B.

This may be a stupid question but is it IE that you use or firefox,?
The reason I ask is the very start of that error says mozilla/4.0 which if memory serves is the new version.

Have you tried a different browser to see if its a fault there?
Screenshots on game cards working fine with IE8, Chrome and Firefox 3.6.12.

Damuna: My suggestion might be to update to IE9, since it's out. Microsoft has a history of not following web standards, and it seems like IE9 does a better job than previous versions have.
He's using Windows XP so he cannot upgrade to IE9. I know he's using XP because the info says NT 5.1 which is XP.

Just tried XP and IE8. I can view the thumbnails normally.

mozilla/4.0 was the identifier for Netscape 4, Microsoft copied it for Explorer 4 and has used it ever since.

Ah I see
Does the page load at all? I get a lot of errors from that page, but none stop it from actually functioning. What is the end result?
I'm using Windows XP and Internet Exlorer 8, so updating to IE9 is no option. The GOG page works with the portable version of Opera by the way.

In IE everything looks normal until I try to open a thumbnail screenshot - when I click nothing happens. While looking for a solution I saw the error message in the lower left corner of IE (the black and yellow exclamation mark). This warning doesn't show when I open the GOG main page. I have to open a game page and after loading all items on the page the warning symbol shows up.

I can do everything on the game page, everything looks fine even the thumbnails, but when I try ckicking on them - nothing...

Since no one else is having this problem, the fault seems to be on my side. But I tried all common fixes for similar problems (even the compatibility mode) and no other web site is making problems. I'm at the end of my wits...
Found a solution finally - I had to reset the Internet Explorer settings in the control panel. Maybe some reg key or add-on was wrecking havoc. Thanks for all your input.
Found the culprit - it was the add-on of the DIVX Web Player. Deactivating the add-on in IE8 solves the problem.

HTML5 and CSS3 are not standards. :p

I don't think he was talking about CSS# and HTML5. IE in general is far more web compliant for current web standards vs older IE versions.

Well I am using XP and IE8 and I can no longer view thumbnails. This seems to have happened about the same time as the old adobe air downloader stopped working.
