JMich: TSA? Hm....
Glad to see a more detailed description instead of a numbered list this time :P
This is why I shouldn't let MDyzzle write newsposts when GDoc is out. ;)
I backed it when it was just a gleam in Logic Artists' eye. So thrilled it's come out! :)

Trilarion: This release looks promising. Could be the one game I buy close after release since a long time. Wishlisted. Now I am waiting for real playing reviews. How much turn based strategy is really inside? Looks a bit like Kings Bounty but without the fantasy part.
I'd suggest taking a look at something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKzdQgY7-FE

Crosmando: It should also be noted that although this game is "historical", it actually follows an alternate timeline in which the player's expedition from Spain beats Hernán Cortés' (the conquistador who actually did conquer Mexico) expedition to the New World. You don't play as any historical characters.
Still a somewhat historical setting :P
Since this showed up in my Kickstarter Backers' email:

nijuu: Ones in spanish and another in danish as well ;)
True. The scores, fortunately, are in Numberish.

Pheace: Ow, now I remember this game, it was the one with the trailer with '30+ unique followers!', and then you saw 5+ people with the same picture :p

(naturally down to early build but funny nonetheless)

Schnuff: GOG is ruining my finances.

Can someone remember this game......it was for the C-64, you could explore unknown Africa in the time of
Dr. Livingston (you could even find him). For every discovery (like the Victoria Falls) you got fame and money.
I can't remember the name....guess it was from EA around the same time as The Bards Tale was released.

JMich: It wouldn't be 7 Cities of Gold, would it? Moment for link.
Edit: linky.
No, 7 Cities of Gold was the Americas. I had that game. :)

TheEnigmaticT: No, 7 Cities of Gold was the Americas. I had that game. :)

JMich: True, reading comprehension failure.

Edit: Any chance of seeing 7 Cities here?
No idea. I'd certainly be for it, as I recall it being a great game, but I think it would be hard sell even at $5.99.

Potzato: Can you tell me about replayability in this game ? In particular is there a lot of randomisation (loot, encounters, maps even ) ? Is the character/ party developpement meaningfull ?
There are a variety of different characters you have have in your party, and the choices you make in the story influence who you can have, so there are reasons to replay through. The storyline's supposed to be branching, but I'll admit that I've not played enough of it myself to have any idea how much that will influence the gameplay itself.

nijuu: Just buy it :P

Elmofongo: Well can I ask:

Does it only take place in what is now Mexico, or all of Latin America and the Caribbean?
Mexico and the Dominican Republic. On moderately-accurate topical maps of the region.

Erich_Zann: Nice, eager to play this one tonight. Backer key redeemed, the natives will kneel.
By the way, you forgot the manual in the extras.
avatar
Novaesky: You can download the manual here in the meantime: http://logicartists.com/dl/ExpeditionsConquistadorGameManual.pdf
I thought I missed something :P

It's available as an extra now.
