The last hope for peace is war.

Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising, a brilliant combination of real-time strategy and action shooter, is back to GOG.com catalog for only $5.99.

In the world of 2032 there's no war. There's no pollution, no disease or sickness, no toxic waste, no famine, no nuclear conflicts, and no post-apocalyptic wasteland. Even money is unnecessary--and that makes some powers unhappy. Shady businessmen and criminals have gathered pre-peace weapons and are launching attacks around the globe to destabilize the planet. The prototype nanotechnology-driven fleet carrier called the Antaeus with you in charge is the Earth's last hope. Fight to prevent the war!

Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising combines real-time strategy with explosive action, played from a third-person perspective. If you expect another C&C or Starcraft clone, you'll be happily disappointed. Hostile Waters offers a few twists on resource and unit management, presents you with an interesting storyline, and allows you to control tanks and helicopters by yourself with a joystick. Playing and RTS with a joystick? Definitely fun, fresh, and exciting.

The re-released version was spiced up with an awesome soundtrack and a development trivia fact-chart, so grab Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising now, for only $5.99!

jamyskis: That was only in the US. Publishing for Rage's games was always handled on a country-by-country basis. Rage handled their own publishing in the UK, I believe Koch Media published some of Rage's titles here in Germany, it's quite possible that they published this too.
I'm going by what the GOGWiki was reporting before I changed it, no idea about the previous publishers :/
Man this is a great week for GOG (re)releases. First Stranger's Wrath, and now this :)
Great to see one of our "lost" titles come back. Gives hope that the others may re-surface some day.

How is voting going to help that? They were all removed for licensing issues, not because no one wanted them. They only way they will come back is if the current rights holders manage to resolve their internal licensing problems, then re-strike a deal with GOG. Voting isn't going to do anything to help with that.

What's next? Telling him Santa isn't real?

He is, he totally is!
I'm glad to see this come back. I was fortunate enough to pick it up the first time round. Heartily recommended.
And here I was thinking that I would never get to see this masterpiece on GOG.
Man, am I happy to see this... I am too new in GOG to have had the chance to get my hands on it before
Very cool! I was kinda "eh" about seeing more new-ish Double Fine on here (obviously I wasn't going to make a post to complain, though) without seemingly another (g)oldie along with it, but this makes makes up for it! ;)

I wish you guys would post re-releases in the banner area, though. I'm far more likely to see what's newly released or re-released there, or what's going on in general, as obviously that's the thing that catches my eye first, and keeps it there before going to the Community post. (Often I don't even look at the "Latest Headlines" block.)

I'd suggest re-using the Hostile Waters banner and adding some text saying something like "re-released for 5.99" or something like that.

Well I doubt it would do much good either, but afaik the point of the wishlist is to gauge interest in certain titles, and GOG can use that as a (minor) point in their attempt to sway a rights' holder. I think Barry was just posting since the topic was leaning towards re-releases in general, and that's his thing he does. :) (which is nice, imo)

The interest was already there, otherwise GOG would never have got the games originally. The problem with these titles is not about GOG swaying rights holders, it's about those rights holders re-negotiating deals with the rights holders of the music, cars, etc. they used in those games. GOG has absolutely no control or influence over that, regardless of how much voting we might do. It's the same problem that caused GTA: Vice City to be removed from Steam. Rockstar's agreement with Michael Jackson's estate over one of his songs used in one of the Vice City radio stations expired, now they are in the process of negotiating a new deal for the song rights so they can start selling the game again. Valve/Steam has absolutely no involvement in those negotiations, as it is an independent agreement between Rockstar and Michael Jackson's estate alone. The same or similar issues have to be resolved with pretty much every one of the games previously removed from GOG before they will be here again. Voting won't change that. It might be nice, but it is ultimately pointless. Better to use the voting system for something that might actually have a tangible effect, IMO.

You have thought this out well, but let's be honest - it isn't really a big deal, aside from maybe getting people's hopes up that they have made a difference. ;) Barry posted, people voted or didn't vote.
