Excerpt of an email from inXile to the Wasteland 2 Backers:

"We recently went to talk with EA to try and get it (=Wasteland 1) out in a different, separate format, and they accommodated our idea. We’ve now inked a new deal where we’ll be able to release Wasteland 1 separately. After getting the game in our hands and ensuring it runs on modern machines, we plan to distribute it FOR FREE to all our backers before Wasteland 2’s release, as well as sell it on GOG.com and Steam for anyone else interested in trying out this classic RPG."

Of course, as a Backer, I get it for free - but for all the 'non-backing' GOGfellows this should be good news!

(especially to all the guys, that wait for 'true' classics) ;)

Ouch!...I have only just discovered the email (after a long night of hard work) and thought I had something awesome to share.
But hey, good news is good news...even twice announced. ;o)
Just saw the email as well good news as i think it will be a good sale here on gog.
Unfortunately, at this point I think the game is just too dated for me to enjoy it much. Most games that old haven't aged that well. I'll stick with the sequel when it's released.

Me Three Tried it back in the day couldn't get into it at all because I have Shitty Eyesight and couldn't see what those multicolored Dots on the screen were!
